Do throwing Axes get bonuses from throwing AND axe masteries? Or just throwing?

I thought Throwing Axes benefited from Axe mastery when used as a melee weapon, was I wrong?

You are correct. Think 2nd poster assumed OP was only referring to throwing a throwing axe.
