It would be nice if throwing Barbarians had a skill that benefited single wielded throwing weapons, to allow the use of a shield.
Current - Double Throw “Allows you to throw two different throwing weapons at the same time”
Proposed - “Throws two throwing weapons in rapid succession (Similar to strafe), or allows you to throw two different throwing weapons at the same time” ( original, allowing you to throw two different, or two of the same, missile weapons)
Both actions would still be throwing double.
Additional suggestions
-Increase range of throwing axes, and knives
-Increase the Attack Rating for Throwing Build ( In general, all Barbarian builds need a AR Boost )
-Add a “Weapon Block” mastery skill: functional when not utilizing a shield, and maxing at 54% chance to block.
-Perhaps grant double throw a % of its damage as magic.

It’s called throw.
I use it on my one hand throw barb. Despite not having Ed or ar bonuses I still beat out double throw barbs because of that block. Though a single handed throw skill of some sort wouldn’t be unwelcome.
What I REALLY want to see for that build is an easing of masteries. I need to max both throwing mastery for my lacerator when I throw, and max axe mastery for my lacerator when I whirlwind.

That will be pretty strong skill if you could double-throw in one hand wearing shield.
Being a ranged character so safety is not an issue as being melee barb. Plus throwbarb has high dexterity, so you get close to max-block.
I mean one-hand throwing with shield sounds good for hardcore i assume. Maybe if they did Double-throw allow for one-handed but with some 25-50% less speed/dmg penalty compared to two throw weapons equiped.
All just to get % attack rating and % dmg bonus from skill for one-hand throw.
Have you thought to try beast + throwing weapon with left hand throw. Its almost as fast as double throw.
Throw barbarian wants to single wield with shield for PVP, where they do not excel due to no shield.
( Amazon gets to use shield and Javelins )

Why would I want to use a shield as throwbarb? The whole point is to be standing back from the frontline a bit and kill them before they reach you.
I suppose they could replace double swing with something else since if you’re going to use that, you’re probably just going to use Frenzy but there’s really no room for a 1h throwing skill.
Throw barb wants to use a shield with throw for survivability, especially in PVP.
Why does Javazon want to use a shield with javelins? (Their javelin choices are a lot better than throw barbs options)

This isn’t a PvP game, it’s a PvE game that lets you beat eachother up for fun.

If it is not a PVP game, PVP would not exist. PVP is endgame. It is the main reason to continue grinding for improved items and continuing play beyond a certain point, unless you’re simply collecting items.
It’s not a PvP game because PvP isn’t the focus, not because it’s not possible. It’s a sideshow, an amusement, a diversion. It was never meant to be taken seriously, rather jsut for a bit of fun (and for ruining people’s lives in HC)
It was not designed to be competitive or a central game mechanic that everyone is meant to partake in.

You can only kill monsters for so long before gear improvement or skills increases will not make a noticeable impact. That leaves farming monsters to find items for collecting purposes, or finding items to improve your performance against opponents, which at end-game is other players because as noted above, noticeable improvement when fighting monsters only lasts for so long.
The throw barb should have some rune words…

They are most likely going to finish balancing existing skills before they humor adding anything new
