Thoughts on Sunders dropping like candy?

I personally think the idea with them is for them to be fairly common so that people can do all the terror zones without the immunities being a big problem for focussed builds. I mean, its not like they are particularly exciting stat wise.
I don’t care that they are reasonably common, IF people want to level up in TZ instead of mindless Baal runs I’m all for that and these charms allow people to do that a little bit more easily, its added a much needed variety. I would be all for making them crafted and not a drop.

The real issue is if immunities should remain “a thing” in D2. I believe they are very very critical to D2’s function. Blizzard just needs to fix hammerdins.

Ok so finally got first sunder it’s a poison -90

You mean to pay someone to rush you for that “less than 1 hour”? They nerfed powerleveling and it seems to require a team. I have 2 accounts and I can’t powerlevel my other char like I can in D3. Still gotta grind XP.

And incidentally, Sunder charms sell for like $40 in real money (last time I checked). If they rain like candy, how are they able to charge that amount?

Just checked and some high-rolled cold sunders are going for $28.

Guess that explains these posts - gotta slow the deflation.

I mean just getting into a game where someone rushes. There always seems to be rush games going on. Someone hops in and will rush through an act or two or the entire thing.

Usually I’ll just hop in a game that’s doing Andy – boom act 1 done. Leave that game and then go find an act 2 game, preferably with the word rush or help in it. Inevitably somebody will come in and rush through act 2. This person will sometimes stay to rush through act 3. Otherwise you just find the next rush game. Act 4 and 5 literally takes 5 minutes total. You can get all of normal done in like 15 minutes.

Not saying you have to play this way. Some people just like playing through the game as is. I’ve just done that so many times I don’t really care for it anymore. What I enjoy most is efficiency of end game farming, and trading my finds. So I just like getting there as soon as possible. And can get there in about an hour using just public games for free.

How were you not bored before? Endgame is unplayably easy. Then they add something to make it easier? Like… wjat world is d2r worth playing without a p8 command on bnet game creation on at minimum non-ladder?

My 70 year old father wants to play steam games instead because bnet is just too easy/offers no challenge for both of us. P8-duo que would be a different story

If sunder charms have to exist, which they dont, Then consider this:

Everyone is forced to play a hybrid character, then those very lucky and high level individuals EARN a sunder charm which allows them to specialise in a single element. That should be a rarity.

The entire problem is that nothing is earned anymore.

The carrot at the end of the stick made it interesting. Finding the new shiny. Honestly I mostly play single player and older patches.

This is also what I was thinking Sunders should be before ladder released. The game has had immunities for 20 years, and then all of a sudden Blizzard felt the need to rush these out within a few weeks and make them pretty easy to find/trade for.

I see on Traderie Cold Sunders go for 1 - 2 ist runes, even low 70s, and ladder has only been out for a week and some change now.

These should be seasonal items and/or added to NL with a lower drop rate.

Just remove them or make a LOD mode. I wont play this terrible game until it is properly fixed.

Wordle offers a greater challenge.

Just an fyi, a 70% sunder is perfect. Maybe I read your post wrong but just in case. It would mean you only lose 70% of your cold resistance, as opposed to the worse roll, 90% – where you take a 90% cold resistance hit.

I meant that I think low 70 cold ruptures would have been worth Ber runes (as some people speculated before ladder) if the charm was a true end game charm. But 1 week into ladder they’re going for Ist runes because finding one isn’t that challenging. So with thousands of people finding them daily, even the good ones are only worth 1-2 ist runes. I think that’s wasted potential for something that would have made for a good end game item. But if they end up being seasonal, no big deal I guess.

I just think they should get rid of them completely. And if not they should all invalidate their associated immunity. But be more rare than zod.

The most stupid thing ever. You’re basically 50% chance of getting one with a horker in a full player 8 game on a reasonably sized Terror zone map(not tristram).

They’re the most commonly dropping unique item in the game after things that deliberately have a 100% chance(Torch, annihilius etc)

Sometimes you even get two in the same run. This type of handout system just goes against the way item drop rates/itemization works in this game. Like, you’re not going to see chanceguards, iceblink, and hellplague etc or anything low level from norm in your game nearly as often as you will see this charm. You don’t need to know much about how the drop works to know this is busted and you’d be easily forgiven for thinking that this wasn’t intended and you should hoard as many as you can before they fix the drop rate.

They’re essentially a joke after a while.

I like it, BUT I WANT THEM NON LADDER TO TEST WITH MY MAIN CHARS.

I love it, great decision. Now to improve drop rates in general please.
