Theres no way they didnt adjust difficulty, i dont evee remember any one saying diablo 2 was hard back in the day.
Now its like one hit from a regular enemy takes out half my health which i pumped nothing bit vit and nova from dying mobs is a literal one shot
It’s WAY easier than it was in LoD. They’ve repeatedly buffed classes/items and nerfed mobs…
You may have played before 1.10, and before Ladder was introduced. 1.10 was introduced in 2003, so depends on how long since you played.
Check your resistances, if they are not at 75% you can easily get killed in 1 shot sometimes, especially if the enemy of the spectral hit type.
What a good joke of a thread…
If you’ve been playing offline, and now moved to battle net, that could be the reason. In offline theres no desync, and you can play on players8, which makes you overlevel and makes it harder for monsters to hit you.
Lightning + Cold enchanted monsters have always been brutal.
If you enter hell at level 65, it’s going to be a bit nasty, but by level 85 things should get much better.
I think the difficulty curve of d2 lod is nearly perfect. It’s almost constantly challenging without being impossible because you can always farm, replay parts, or try other approaches
Until end game it stays tough all the way through. I still enjoy replaying the game hundreds of times later
this.
Unless of course you are a SC player who has everything and doesn’t mind dying. (and EXP penaltys are not a real problem… die and stay dead: THAT is a problem^^)
Such players are mostly the ones who think that the game is too easy.
Self-made problems ^^ Play HC without letting you pull and without already owning all high lvl items. then it is (at least in Hell) no longer easy and you can no longer headless like a Tasmanian devil rush through the mobs.
Anyone who has in Hell accidentally run into a bunch of Super Uniques like “Death Lords with Fanatism and more” or Stygian Doll Bossmobs knows that this is NOT easy. Anyone who says otherwise is a foolish talker…or SC player.
Not that I have anything against them but I don’t see any challenge if dying has no consequences.
As a HC player you are much more happy about items and you have more space because sometimes something… “disappears”
everything feels more valuable
What buffs? The 2.4 buffs? What changes did it make? The same class builds are still the goto
Pumping all into vitality isn’t a great strat.
You only vitality pump if you’re softcore because building your hero properly doesn’t matter there.
?
FoH was buffed
Zealot was buffed.
Auradin buffed
Hybrid sorcs buffed
Nova sorc buffed
Fire buffed
Summon necro “slightly” buffed.
Bone necro buffed.

Fire Druid MASSIVELY buffed.
Wind Druid buffed slightly.
Shifter buffed.
Druid Summons MASSSSSIVELY buffed.
Barb buffed 9 different ways to sunday with a slight 2h WW nerf (still sucks)
Don’t care enough about Sins to comment.
Depends on how you look at it and when you played lol. Most forum users here are 1.10 and up players. In older patches WW used to dominate so they fixed the WW(which people call broken now even though its the same now in LOD considering I have an active account) They Fixed WW from being OP and buffed bosses a little after 1.10 runewords came out a little later. So yes if you played before they nerfed WW and buffed bosses. Then yes this is harder, but if you played after they fixed the hit 50 times in a ww pass and kept bosses nerfed then it should seem the same
my favourite class.
i rly like the changes.
Diablo 2 was always hard game and still is.
Sounds like a Drop rate issue to me. Try to get some free items in public because you are about to really hate life in this game if you think you will even find what people will give you for free in game.
The drop rate was lowered and you are not going to be able to gear up and play this game without some freebies.
Ive been complaining about it forever, and now you sound like a victim of it…
Do you seriously believe this? I mean the drop rates are fine. Last couple days I’ve played I’ve found another Cham, another Vex, a +3 skills GMB, a lighting skiller, yet another blasted shako, a 6% MF 5% all res SC, a decent eth Archon and a butt load of stuff I didn’t bother picking up that was halfway decent.
I remember D2 being significantly more difficult back in the days, normal to hell in single player playthrought is doable in a few days now.
id argue that it was then also, the major diff being that you know the game inside and out now, and did not then. as other have mentioned, it got a lot harder when we went from 1.09d to 1.10 when the rust storm came through and wiped out all the hacks/dupes like ITH bugs etc. now if you want to talk 1.07, that was some hard stuff. but who DOESNT like getting hit with iron maiden in the middle of a ww in chaos sanct amiright?
why play hardcore when you die to lag more often than you would a monster
lol, you can do all of them in a couple hours
