The most neutral solution is to make loot only drop per player count for players near the monster/chest similarly to how XP is shared.
In other words, you go solo LK in an 8 player server, you get p1 loot from it. There would no longer be any point to joining someone else’s game to pillage their bosses and chests.
The problem with Ploot is that loot gets scaled 8x instead of the p8 rate, which is much lower. The economy would likely flood and everything would become nearly free in short order.
why is limiting the level during game creation not an option?
Why would anyone want for rich people to get even more rich? high geared people will get the most out of p8 settings. It will change the economy even more. So it’s clearly a NO
Oh boy, another /players8 online thread where we can wave goodbye to the OP builds carrying us for XP and potential loot in multiplayer games, now to not risk the HRs they’ll just play /players8 and rack up that FG on D2JSP for their next ladder build.
Meanwhile the rest of the non-OP normies constantly struggle to even clear P8 Baal with 7 other real people, why? Because anyone that can solo clear it on P8 now does so. The result? Leveling grinds to a halt for all but the most overgeared sweatlords.
In this situation the saying applies, “You think you do, but you don’t”.
Having someone join your game of COWPOOP27 and run off to lower Kurast to pop super-chests is the price you pay for all those other times some overgeared madlord carried you through Chaos when it’d have taken you 5 times as long on P1.
In the end, it all balances out and that’s the price you pay for not letting the online community literally die overnight.
Op has over 60 likes, I don’t see near that many on anyone’s sarcastic “we don’t need /players x command” responses.
The game needs this change I’ve seen so many people arguing over who is going to mf where and “get out of my mf area”, “stop following me” , “leave me alone go kill your own mobs” . The only argument against players 8 at this point is that is discourages people playing together but seriously going to different spots in the game and never speaking unless someone bothers you is hardly playing together.
It’s because people who are okay with the system are playing the game, and people who aren’t okay with it are lounging around on the forums petitioning for changes that I imagine the bulk of players wouldn’t like one bit. Just an observation.
Given your limited capacity I can forgive you for not seeing the back to back 2 month and 24 day necros, thus fooling you into thinking this is another thread.
What’s wrong with posting the same thing twice? You’re awfully self congratulatory on perceived “gotcha” moments aren’t ya? Who cares if it’s posted twice? Holy crap.
Oh I’m sorry my mistake. Also, were you under the impression this is the only P8 thread I’ve read? How sharp of you to know my thread viewing history. I was unaware Blizzard had implemented the ability to view people’s browser history as well as post logs.
You should probably stop hanging out trying to “gotcha” people on forums, ultimately no one cares. Let that sink in, then stop annoying me with your nonsense.
You’re annoying yourself with your own nonsense because you’re under the impression that a necro’d thread from October is a new thread. Uggggh, not another p8 thread!
I usually just reply to any thread in the top 10. This isn’t usually an issue, but I guess thread posts and bumps have slowed down considerably in the last few months. Guess I’ll just have to start checking them more thoroughly.
This might be why I saw the thread. This post bumped the thread and I just responded because it was in the top 10. So please don’t place all the blame on me, thanks.
Also, welcome to my ignore list Mith. You’ll join one other person in the many months I’ve been here. Cheers.
So you read what you responded to despite what you’re responding to clearly saying it’s 28 days later, and directly above it the previous post saying it’s from an additional 2 months prior. And then you’re coming at it all hot and bothered. Think about that.
