There are many advocates of bots here

Their logic is that bots are good for the d2r economy because people can buy items cheaply.

Of course, their claims are irrational and unfounded.

Most users don’t spend extra money again after buying Diablo.

The drop in item prices due to bots only reduces user’s motivation.

If trading is banned in the first place, and new content is added frequently, people won’t mind having a lot of bots. Because they can enjoy the content itself.

However, the contents of d2r are the same as they were 10 years ago, and if you are a light user, you can complete all the contents once in 3 days. This is because research on all upbringing methods has been completed.

In this situation, there are few things that motivate people to do d2r other than earning pocket money. To them, bots are just cheaters that destroy motivation.

No matter how much the people here deny it, this is true, and the sharp drop in item prices and the failure of the ladder proves this.

Blizzard made money by neglecting bots and blocking them periodically, but this profit structure is already shaking the foundation of d2r enough to destroy d2r’s user pool.

This corrupt system is already coming to an end, and no blizzard promotions or events will bring d2 back to life unless fundamental changes are made.

Also, no matter how much botter rationalize bot here, they are just cheaters.

Playing devils advocate (I am against bots in principle) a lot of people’s memories of D2LoD are within the context of bots being operated by actual players, who would then use their findings for trading. This skews a lot of opinions about “drop rates are fine, always have been” because people remember lots and lots of items in the economy many of which were supplied by player-run bots.

Now, however, at least within common knowledge, there is not a lot of player-run botting, but rather there is money-site run botting.

Anyone know where I can get a good pindlebot??

Players will also be running a lot of bots.

rip diablo 2. just saw a bot join to spam the chat the website to buying items. it was a great first run now its officially dead ladder

It is long time Blizzard have not govern bots. Most people have lost their motivation to D2R, and ladder wil die soon.

i am 100% against bots, but i did enjoy the d2 trivia bots in some private chat channels.

sometimes i would just do the d2 trivia for hours in the channel and not even play the game.

( which for me is hysterical because i cant type so i would write out the answer but type it wrong and then people would see the answer and i would have to try to type it again quickly but spell it correctly this time., and it was a blast)
