I had this shield drop and it brought back memories…Anyone remember when The Ward unique shield used to be amazing? Socketed with a Perfect Diamond and it would reach upwards of 79 resist all. Even without that it naturally rolls 30-50 resist all, which is its main feature (rest of mods are meh). Of course, with the advent of something like cheap, easy, simple, and powerful like Ancients Pledge, The Ward became all but forgotten.
Anyways, it got me thinking, what uniques have you had drop that you used to use, and used to be awesome, that simply no longer make the cut anymore? I know this might apply to many/most unique items, but lets try to keep it to ones like The Ward (or another one, The Salamander staff, used to be awesome for Fire sorc but now highly outclassed by the cheap, easy, simple Leaf), ones that simply have no real place in the game anymore.

Buriza with knockback. You shoot a Guided arrow and a mob is pushed away from you and killed offscreen. (Before they nerfed GA-pierce combo obv)

AHHHH play some classic (non-LoD) my friend! Only normal level uniques and sets (no exceptional/elite) and no runewords!
Ironstone warhammer on my first single player zeal Paladin. MAN i thought that was the greatest weapon ever!

Oh yes, I had many a grand time playing Classic back when it was all we could play! I would love to play it again, unfortunately we are limited to 20 character slots, and I care not for Single Player 
Ironstone is an incredible weapon, to be sure, even now I look at it and I’m like, this is pretty good…
Buriza and Lycander’s Aim were always my go-to Zon weapons. The Ward is still good though for non-sorcs at reset, as is Mosers Blessed Circle.

Iceblink is low key still pretty great, same with the Chain armor one Sparkling Mail or whatever. In fact a lot of the “teens” armors are great and entirely usable even now, they just get outclassed by Stealth at 17.

Pelta Lunata is one of those uniques to be sure, along with Rixots Keen, that are just about as OP as you could get for Level 2, probably last you through at least the first few acts, great pick. Culwens point as well used to be (and still is to some extent) quite the unique to use/shoot for, especially for a Barb or Paladin, it just does so much.
I just had an eth Hone Sundan drop, man I wanted that while leveling up my summoner. I’m halfway thinking of swapping that in on his mercs weapon, currently he has an eth insight in a colossal blade. It will half his damage but double the rate of CB…

Eth Hone Sundan is incredible…Eth Insight is also great, of course, and honestly I think Eth Hone Sundan is better to be used by a character rather than Mercenary (though of course it’s still fantastic on Mercenary) just because it has that built in repair durability mod, making it usable even by characters like idk, WW barb? Or Spearzon? Something like that.

Both of those were OP…reminds me of another one, Silks of the Victor. Such a classic/iconic armor, 1 to all skills! Mana leech! High Defense! Whoa!
