For real, this season is much worse than any before. I get 2-3 random people a day whispering me about RMT sites. Could you please do something about it, it is such a low hanging fruit, either let me block those a**holes or for goodness sake flag and suspend accounts as soon as they post links to RMT.

it’s not so bad when they are slow and their whisper comes out once im in a game. ez report/block.
it sucks a bit more when im chilling in the lobby and suddenly a whisper takes me to some private mini channel with just us 2. then i gotta reclick the dropdown menu and click lobby again. it’s the laziest most cheap chat ive ever seen. i preferred mIRC from 1995
It’d be neat if Microsoft would put all this AI they have to use in this game to police bot farms and chat bots. But there’s no money in it. It’s also a problem they inherited, which means it’s even less likely to happen.
Good luck, let me know what arpg or mmo has solved botting, we can show blizzard how it should be done!
Best bet is move to a country with social credit, at some point botters, hackers and cheaters won’t even be able to use the bathroom without supervision from the government and you’ll be safe to play your game without bots and thus you will finally enjoy d2r.
I see thread is more of a rant towards spam, not bots directly…yes spam block system sucks.

The answer is probably none however i know some arpg’s does a way better job at minimizing the problem, same with RMT. Blizz on the other hand does nothing at all. I never get whispers and PM’s with RMT links when playing PoE nor do i see the economy being ruined by mass botting within the first week of a new ladder.
Besides PoE have a nice official trade site that lets u post items for trade directly from ur stash tab without needing to tab out which means almost everyone uses the official site which keeps a huge part of the playerbase from ever using 3rd party sites.
In a way i feel like blizz created the perfect setting for botting, RMT and 3rd party trading by not providing that which every arpg with an economy and trading needs… An official ez to use trade site with direct access to ur stash tab. On top of this they made ingame trading tedious at best and an ingame lobby that is almost completely useless.

The more popular and more accessible the game is, the more bots will be whether spam or item finding bots sucks but no difference with popular things in RL, people exploit to the extremes…and ultimately there is really nothing developers can do with a popular game without it costing their company a ton of money to fight them…they can ban over & over but people will always find ways to replace lost accounts…if it is a popular game, they easily recover those costs and it makes no difference to these folks…fighting botters is a never ending flow of $$$$ out of your company.
Think at this point, it would be easier to convince American government to enact social credit in order to truly punish bot users no matter what game you play.
Still better than these forums automod which are constantly abused
Yeah i never said the problem was solved in PoE and i was referring to PoE 1. Sure there are bots running rampant and always will be. However it does seem like there are less bots in PoE 1 compared to they number of players ofc and it doesnt seem to have the massive impact on the ingame economy as we see in D2R.
But yes u are right, unfortunately people will always find ways to abuse and exploit anything that have the slightest chance of bringing them profit
Edit: Had a guy on my friends list once in PoE 1 who tried to bot in PoE, it took less than 24 hours before hes account was banned. You dont see that in D2R
50%+ ppl are botters, they are better and better and more advanced from year to year.
Botters are better than humans, can generate 24/7h interest and game activity 
Humans become trash for video games.

personally i find the game boring once i get all im looking for. having a shortcut to being bored sounds stupid.
play legit, in hardcore, lose stuff, get stuff. feel the thrill… now that’s fun!
