We are preserving this game. We are bringing the game people remember into this era. What we are NOT doing is iterating on the franchise. . . that was our paramount goal with this.”
2.4 Added more possibilities without touching the existing ones. That’s what made 2.4 an incredible patch and made me gain huge trust into the devs.
Terror zones alone was a bit ewww. But eh kinda “can deal with it”. Sundering just breaks everything. Immunes was intruduced for a reason, to make the game HARD. Indruducing these charms are just a big FU to the people that came up with the immune system. D2 gamers been building their chars to dual damage sources for decades now.
It’s really hard to believe that these two patches came from the same devs.
If you get feedback that it’s too easy for hammerdin, than nerf hammerdins ffs, and don’t break up the complete Meta. Or just deal with it.
At this point, i’d really prefer if 2.5 gets just scrapped. This game is about nostalgia. Give us QoL, not reinvent the game.

If we turn this game up, we want to play Diablo 2, not eastern sun or whatever. And it’s okay if we get bored with it and lay it away for a year or two. It’s just a game. The most important part is that when nostalgia hit us, D2 is there, like we remember it.
Or don’t forceinstall updates and give us back open / tcpip…
Or make it an optional mod, plus charm inventory, corruption, runewords in uniques, …

At this point id welcome tcp-ip back anyday.
Sadly this company prefers to ditch their veterans so they maximize sells after D4 releases for casuals to enjoy D2R.

Oh stop it
The majority doesn’t care about this false narrative of “we preserve the original game”
The majority wants improvements… goood ones
Which they have failed to deliver so far
Yes like 2.4 which had incredible improvements without destroying anything from OG. Except FHR maybe but i don’t play PvP so i have no opinion on this.
2.4 was a lacklustre patch
Still don’t get why people called it Major lol
That’s just like, your opinion, man.

I wonder if the world would be falling apart in this forum if infinity runeword came out today. It most likely would. Any change really and the forum falls apart and it’s always the end of the world each time. I guess it’s just the cool thing to do. Yet when it comes down to it most of the endgame characters are either hammerdin or light-based characters. Why? because people enjoy being able to kill everything with their character. They are not locked into a certain zone. But it seems everyone is trying to deny this truth. I’m tired of reading the game is not “hard” and that I’m an “intellectual” and plan out my build. “This change will ruin my superior build planning.” Oh please, tell me what build you have planned that has not already been made and found on the internet? This game is 20+ years old. Anyways all dual spec builds are max your synergies for your main skill and then dump the maybe 20 you have left over into the side element skill. Stats the same as every other build. Put enough into strength dump rest into vitality. “So much planning”. But these charms are just going to ruin everything /s. Yes, cold mastery will most likely need to be tinkered with now, but I guess I’m just tired of people talking about “planning their build like their some great intellectual” When it is the same build strategies that have been happening for 20 years. Also talking about the game being “hard” D2r is not a dark souls game and was never meant to be.

LoL ah yes the same cool boy reply to anything against the status qoe of hating every change on this forum. “Go Play D3”. Anyways reading the forum is a cancer when it comes to changes. It’s always the same reaction. “Omg! the world is falling apart.” Anyways said my peace. Hope you have a wonderful day =).
Nope it wasn’t
It was lacklustre like the current patch
They did with synergies like they are doing now with immunities
Aknowledge it’s a bad design that needs to be replaced… instead do some stupid little tweaks that doesn’t fix the underlying issue
2.4 should have reworked the synergy system
2.5 should have reworked the immunity mechanic
There is no saving 2.5. I hope the devs can just admit they got it terribly wrong and delete everything they have done.
Its okay to make a mistake if you correct it nice and early.
2.5 is so crap. Its so obviiusly crap. What the hell were they thinking?

You clearly know nothing of D2 history. 1.10 was the beta to test all the bad ideas to implement in D3. The irony is that D3 at launch doesn’t even remotely resemble the current game.
Sorry mang. It’s not about killing.
It’s about finding.
It’s tough to explain without a wall of text but I hope you understand what I mean. You don’t need to kill 100% of the game to find 100% of the items. Immunities gave each class/build an identity.
This will be eradicated
