I’ve had it be the second or even first path I picked before in d2r. It’s just luck of the draw.
this is actually to your advantage if youre a sorc, the chests at the wrong ends are very good in terms of runes and charm drops. bring keys.
Theres also ghosts, theyre some of the best mobs to farm runes from since they cant drop gear unless unique mobs.
This used to happen to me every time. Now every time I start one I begin down a path and then I stop and realize no this isn’t going to be the one. I then realized that I go clockwise when doing things so I go to the one that is counterclockwise and usually find it on the first try now.
the three first times i went there i was right on the first guess. then never again.
Same here, but then again when I find the summoner I stop looking, so I guess there’s a method to the madness.

Eh I got it the first path I took on normal, the last place I looked on nightmare. Random is random.
