Terror Zones and 2.5 are garbage

terror zones and 2.5 patch have ruined d2. btw i dont need those ridiculous and completely useless sunder charms to clear terror zones, because they are absolutely no different than what they normally are. no harder, no different. just more xp for some easy act 2 monster killing? ur infecting diablo 2 with the same AIDS that you gave diablo 3. gtfo. you’re ruining our childhood favorite game and nobody appreciates anything you’ve done besides give diablo 2 new graphics. you should’ve stopped there and then left it to original devs.

Not the words i would have chosen but i completely agree.

If they would just admit 2.5 is dogcrap and delete it, i genuinely would respect them for it.

It is dogcrap afterall.

I quite enjoy the terror zones. But the charms are totally needless stupid power creep. D2 is easy enough, even the TZ…

I’ll disagree. I think Terror Zones, overall, were a good addition to the game so far. I don’t love some of the execution (zones picked, density focus, etc.) but I think overall it adds another element to farming which is positive. XP should maybe get tweaked a bit (Cows was so much last night) but I think the idea and option is a positive

D2R is still a WAYS off from D3. I can’t get my end gear (maybe not perfectly rolled but the end gear) in 15 hours like D3 and that is including leveling time if you do it as a group at launch. We’re still miles off from that BS

  • Helped some builds that needed it (2.4)
  • Got the Iron Golem AI to be slightly better

I’d say 2.4 was a relatively uncontroversial benefit to the game. 2.5 is a lot more debatable especially with Sunder Charms eviscerating the “1/5th protection”

You’re wasting keystrokes I’m afraid. These folks closed their minds to the idea the second it was announced and started ringing the bell screaming “THE SKY IS FALLING!!1”. It has never crossed their minds that both Terror Zones and the Sunder Charms are optional, as in they can continue playing they way they have been for the past twelve+ years. These are the same type of people that feel that if there is a better way to do something, it is THE ONLY WAY. You’d probably have better luck asking a brick wall to recite you a sonnet than to convince these people that Terror Zones and Sunder charms aren’t as bad as they are claiming.

The terror zone needs more density and harder monsters.
I want to see newer monsters with theor bag of trix then we are talking terror zones with an uber boss in some areas thats not a push over.

Dont let the D2 door hit you on your sore butt on the way out… see ya

TZ and Sunder are progressive adds to the game to shake up the meta. Its what every D2 player has been crying for for years… Are they done? Hope not, but its a step in the right direction.

i like both. why should lv99 require 10000 p8 baal runs? why should infinity+lightning and hammerdins be the only fun endgame builds?

I have been playing since D2 launch off and on. quite a bit more since D2R launch. TZ are fine to me. it’s only thing that has me back playing again. I could care less about the charms. I will probably use them when I find them. to say this has ruined the game is pretty funny. I would say it has minimal impact. don’t like it? don’t play the content. you can still play without them.

terror zones are so underwhelming its a joke. it’s literally free xp without a more difficult challenge. becoming lvl 99 is supposed to be somewhat challenging. they promised in the patch notes terror zones would be CHALLENGING. the monster density is the same, the monsters are still incredibly easy to kill in 8 player games and nothing feels different except the amount of xp you get for clearing the terror zone areas. like dude i love the idea of the terror zones. but the mechanics and implementation of them are an absolute joke. there needs to be entirely way more monster density and they should at least feel like they are actually higher than lvl 85 areas. this whole patch is a literal joke and it makes this game feel like the failure grime from d3 just rubbed off on it. i want to feel like im probably going to DIE if i go into terror zones even at lvl 95+ characters. i want to actually be scared going into 8 player terror zones and that’s when the extra xp would feel EARNED and not a freebie to noobs. there’s no challenge here. just another scheme to try to get people that left d2 because they’re too intimidated or dont know what they’re doing to play again.

Lol.

I could use some aids to help me around the house.

I think the people who make these post think it is a good thing that getting from 98-99 takes 5000 baal games.

don’t listen to these guys and just keep adding new things.

how about you just fix your new ideas so they’re contributing properly and not just freebie grabs for noobs and baddies? that’s probably a better start than just not listening to people who have been playing diablo 2 for almost two full decades.

lol noobs? there are no new people playing this ancient game.

uh, yes there actually is a huge new player base since d2r release. now ur just arguing for the sake of arguing. but look. my point is this…terror zones are a great idea but the mechanics behind them feel like an unfinished patch that’s making the pillar of an accomplishment that is reaching level 99 feel like a watered down joke. i would be happy if terror zones stayed but were just tweaked to be much more challenging and much more monster dense. perhaps maybe make them so you HAVE to have other friends you rely on to clear terror zones to to insane immunities and etc. there are plenty of things blizz could do to encourage 8 man teams going up against insane monsters in these zones. but its a cheap cop out. i had such high hopes because lets face it…nobody wants to grind baal a million times to get to 99. like nobody. but honestly i’d rather be stuck with countless baal runs at this point just out of spite.

Speak for yourself. I play D2 since it was released and I’m loving the upgrades.

BTW, as others have said, Terror Zones are optional, honey. No one is forcing you to play with TZs enabled.

i want terror zones to be in the game. i would just like them to be challenging like promised. is that hard to do? too much to ask for?
