Terror Zone Schedule-Request

Bringing this topic over to the General, I would like to re-suggest this feature so that players can plan their play around Terror Zone.

I get that there is probably a large portion OK with the randomness, and sure that has its perks, keeping you on your toes, checking every hour for that elite zone to run…

I am hopeful Blizz will consider this, similar to Wc3 tournaments were on a calendar so you could plan which ones you were dedicating.

i see no reason to be against this suggestion

when i play bnet, i only run the TZs i want

so nothing would really change in regards to this

the only problem i see is someone´s favourite maps ending up on slots where they are asleep/at work. forever.

another option could be being able to set /favourite map for an hour. and you get like 1 of each map, 1 pick of that map per 24 hours.
the rest of the time it would be on random. so you could maybe have a second bonus hour maybe?

the rotation is pure rng
no one is asking to change this

every hour there is a random pick from the pool of 35 options
all we ask is that they make the next 24 (168 would be ideal) picks for the next 24 hours (1 week would be ideal) of TZs and make this info public

not a bad idea

but i prefer that they create a token for each map and enable it as a possible drop only in TZs

those tokens would be tradable ofc so this would be a new currency for trading which would warm up the market

Well thats already happening, atleast now they will know or the next time its scheduled, they arent working and can do what they can to make it online.

This would be a cool cube recipe… Have the TZ drop a new item, have to collect that plus plus, cube it, get a TZ of your choice for an hour.

The bots would be happy when they know in advance the hours of the terror zones

That is why the best is the current procedure, ONLY it is known when the clock to ##:00

Seriously… Lets not worry about cheaters being able to plan, this is for ALL players to be able to plan and maximize their game experience.
We dont need the 80/20 rule here.

For the same reason I like dynamic maps, I like the randomness of Terror Zones, it helps keep the game fresh. Terror Zones aren’t all equal of course… Some are great, some are mediocre, others make you want to go back to running the normal routes you ran in the original game.

There are valid reasons on both sides of the coin, I do agree, the randomness is a plus, but its also a hindrance.

Perhaps they could atleast add an alert or live feed on the bnet launcher announcing which terror zone is active, save some log ins. Or how about a push notification and you can choose which TZ you want to be notified of when they go live?

There are third party TZ tracking tools. Here’s the one I check:

https://d2runewizard.com/terror-zone-tracker

Since 3rd parties are going to do it anyway, I don’t see why Blizzard couldn’t give us out of game TZ tracking. Probably the same reason why they haven’t brought a proper in-game trading platform… :man_shrugging:

Agreed, I like that it follows the theme of RNG in D2. During the ladder race, people would always anticipate which zone it’s about to switch to in 5 minutes, and if it was something good, they were willing to stay up another hour, so it definitely adds something. Schedules wouldn’t be so bad either, but getting a bad terror zone is just like finding a bad item.

I do like the randomness, I think its kinda fun.

However I wouldn’t be mad about a little “event” type thing where the TZ is worldstone/cows/whatever for 8 hours or a weekend or something along those lines. That could be a fun way to bring the community together for a short period of time.

Showing a schedule sounds terrible tbh.

But maybe there could be 2 active zones at a time?
Or instead if changing each hour, 2 different zones active for 2 hours each.

Lowering the RNG a bit.

Now that would be nice.

Nice!
