I’m playing offline, orbwalll sorceress, level 87 atm. My merc is Act II NM Holy Freeze, with Tal Rasha’s Death Mask, and Duriel’s Cuirass. I created a really nice Colossus Voulge “Insight” and, like many of you, was unable to equip it because my merc lacked the strength to equip it. I didn’t want to lose the Life Steal from the Death Mask and I have no current opportunities for Larzuk to add sockets, so I needed to find a way to gain the strength I needed to equip the high-powered Voulge. My solution was to create a “Lionheart” Chaos Armor (Hel+Lum+Fal), which has +25 Strength, +20% enhanced damage, +15 Dex, +10 energy, +20 Vit, +50 Life, +30 all resists, and all requirements -15%. I LOST the No Freeze effect, which is not a good thing, but I have found that my Merc is totally ripping through everything with the new weapon, has only been frozen one time (which didn’t really cause a problem), and I hardly ever have to heal him, since he does such high damage and has the 10% Life Steal. I’m really hoping to find that damned LO rune to make him a “Fortitutde” but who knows when that will happen?!! If I had the ability to add a socket to my Tal’s, I would do that and socket a +Str to that and go back to the Duriel’s until I can get the “Fortitude”.
You need an andarial’s visage. Or a level 94 Merc …something like that.
That’s why Trasher or Giant Trasher is a better option. Whit Andys Visage and Forty, you’ll have no problems.
Well, I haven’t found the visage, and a level 94 merc is quite a ways away. I needed something that would work for me now. But, thanks for the reply.
There is nothing. You can’t equip it.

Bodach, to what are you referring? I can currently equip my Colossus Voulge with the gear setup I described.
Don’t bother w fortitude I have it. I’ve used it. Treachery is better for a merc.
Bis being eth visage, eth reapers/insight or infinity and treachery. Both my insight and my reapers toll mercs use visage and treachery and never die. Fade coupled w the ias and life leech make him very self sufficient. My mercs can clear cows without me.
