Teleport makes sorc best class to start

If we would to balance game that’s probably first thing before buffing melee and anything else. Even with teleport charges for other classes Sorc is still best starter especially if farming bosses is fastest way to get good loot.

My solution would be to make Teleport more endgame thingy by increasing its level requirement and giving all classes the same fair access to it. Not sure but I think it works somehow like that in Diablo 1.

So for D2 I would increase its level to 40 so we get it after Normal difficulty where improving character becomes more important than story and slowly exploring world. Then add it to other classes skill tree or to Stealth runeword as this armor is best early for everyone anyway. Also with increased level requirement to 40.

You’re assuming that farming bosses is the only way to get good items. There are many other high level areas with good drop rates that don’t involve needing to teleport to.

playing a paladin who walks everywhere. i play casually. i’ve found shako, war travs, multiple high runes, made myself an HOTO from runes i found myself, i have 450mf of all items i found myself. i don’t even play every day or every other day. everything is going just fine and i never feel like i’m missing out on teleport. 90% of my items have come from random chests and flipping bodies which i never would have done if i was just teleporting to meph every game. i’d be poorer if i had teleport

At Normal/Nightmare levels of faster casting, teleport is slower than common faster run/walk skills (burst of speed, vigor, etc). Meaning teleport is only useful for getting over walls.

Any character can buy a staff with teleport charges on it as early as act-3 normal, and fairly commonly in act-1 NM. For my early season (non-sorc) characters, swap weapon is basically always a teleport staff. Also shout out to my boi Naj’s Puzzler which my farming sin is still wearing right now.

Reported as trolling.

Moving on…

Nobody needs your solutions and ideas.

The best thing of 2000’s gaming was - you were eating what is served.
Nowadays everyone is so pampered and casualized

what exactly you want to balance? want to use teleport whit another class? make Enigma Runeword, problem solved

You’re also assuming there’s only one way to play d2 which is sad.

I’m sorry your life is boring.

That topic is pointless. Chaos Sanctuary and Pit > Andariel/Mephisto teleport runs. Chaos Sanctuary requires like 3-4 teleport charges on staff/neck.

Paladin is actually the best starting class cause you can run hammer and cut through hell without caring about immunities and farm everywhere. Run hammer → get some decent gear (act5 first wp is great to farm with a low gear blessed hammer : high mob density and a super unique → farm keys for 15-20 torches → use respec to smite → get all torches → sell them.

I got vex runes for the first unid torches i sold so even if you are unlucky and get just a gul per torch you get enough value go craft hoto, enigma and probadly buy shako and hoz or buy gear for any other build you wanna play and level another character

Everything in this thread is No.

Sorry if you got wrong impression I’m not complaining, pointing out facts from economic point of view. I’m having a ton of fun playing the game how it is. I would be totally fine with no changes like this. Just wanted to share idea to something you can’t deny that Sorceress is the most used class for ladder resets. When I read they want to add new runewords for ladder I think changes like this would be better instead. Surveys show and every class has access to teleport anyway just at much higher cost.

Oh really? Teleport makes other classes pointless to start? Pointless to who? You? Maybe it’s… fun? Fun to start as a different class? Maybe it’s fun for a variety of reasons? Maybe you don’t have to obsessively min-max every single moment of your experience? Maybe you can just play the video game? Like you’re seriously suggesting nerfing teleport? This gave me a good laugh.
