All character classes have access to teleport at clvl 24. In Normal difficulty Ormus starts selling charged teleport staffs. The staff holds 33 teleport charges and costs between 18K and 300K, so try to have lots of gold before reaching clvl 24.
Use the staff on switch and use the charges frugally and intelligently, such as crossing water, lava, passing through walls and controlling your merc. To fully repair charges it costs about 85K, so keep your gold supply up.
I personally prefer teleport charges on an amulet and always seek one prior to obtaining Enigma. I use other charged items on switch, such as GoP or Life Tap and Sanctuary combo. In endgame to get to the Throne Room quickly, I switch out my regular amulet for the tele - run the stretches and quickly tele through the walls of WSK 2 and 3.
or you can farm hell diablo for Najâs puzzler. should be quick and easy. then level up to 78 for youâre very own on swap teleport staff with 69 charges.
I remember watching a vid on diabloii.net a few years ago of a guy who used it to speed rush the throne over and over leveling from 93-94 killing all the waves up to Ventar. He leveled really quick. He was heavily criticized by some but he didnât care, he was having a riot of a time.
Itâs coming to the metaverse near you, GenZâs grand kids will demand it! Oh wait, GenZ isnât having kids.
i have traded away some of them. cost around 150k gold to fully re charge it. shame you canât use it very much for early leveling. there is also the spellsteel axe that you can use from 39, but itâs only 20 charges. pretty crap for a unique item when you can get 33 on a blue level 24.
You can use it to 99, rapid farming Nihlathak for experience the moment you can equip it.
Itâs a transition weapon for people who play through the game. Imagine being new to the game playing anything but a sorc, never playing the sorc, not knowing about teleport, never analyzing vendor wares, and bam, this axe drops and you discover Teleport and Decrepify for the first time. Itâs a revelation if you test it out. Seasoned players with their metas forget sometimes what itâs like to look through a lens of a first time player. Sure itâs an old game, but every day itâs new for someone. BN intentionally did this a lot with charged items.
Also, if youâre in a party and youâre flying through the game in the first few hours of ladder reset and donât have time to farm vendors for a tele staff, itâs a very welcome drop that youâll cheer in the heat of the rush. When I say you, I mean me.
One day weâll have replicators and weâll tell vendors to make us a sandwich, youâll see.
Act 5 Hell vendor will often (depending on luck as always) sell teleport staffs, definitely not great but relatively easy to acquire. Itâs usually my go to if I need one quick.
I know, and if Gates gets his way weâll be eating replicated meat out of a dispenser in no time. Theyâll likely feed the stuff to dogs and cats first.
Learning takes time for me, experience through a lot of grinding. Some of us have that challenge to reward system in us.
The only real âbuffâ they should give is simply reduce the cost of recharging teleport charges by an order of magnitude (from 3000 gold to 300) - so early game characters who wanna use teleport staves can do so without going broke.
My op was about using charged items to improve your game play, not about removing them from the game or how hard it is to get good rares. Ferrari made 272 288 GTOs and sold them for 1/4 of a million. Today they go for at least 5 million each and there are estimated only 250 left on the planet.
There are more than 22 million millionaires in the US alone, 1% of them would give their left nut to own a 288 GTO, the rest couldnât care less. However, if there were 10,000 288 GTOâs the majority of the 1% wouldnât think twice about the car, even though itâs an engineering marvel of the 1980s.
Do you understand what Iâm pitching as it pertains to godly âraresâ?
Or, like I said, use the charges frugally and intelligently.
