Look, i’ll give you that at the very least it was bad optics to do that. But it was a pre-planned vacation.
Why exactly was he supposed to stay while the state was frozen? What in his job description meant he should be there. What could he even have done? The management of the state is the job of the Governor, not a Senator. A Senator is a federal employee who represents the people of the state at the federal level, dealing with emergencies that happen in the state is the job of the Governor and other officials of the STATE government.

would it have been any different from his warm mansion?
did he need to go meet people in person or could pretty much all of the handling be done over phone and facetime?
i mean when people say that stuff what do they mean? how about getting upset about something realistic, like the failure of wind turbines and their impact on the environment. it’s about as dumb as 50 private jets at a climate meeting.

It’s not being gullible, it’s objectively demonstrably factually true unfortunately. I say that as someone who has always been registered independent since I’m not a huge fan of a two party system in general.
When one side has gone full fascism and is attacking basic voting rights/access and civil rights all across the country while gaslighting people on several topics including downplaying and covering up the first coup attempt by a president in US history, I’d say one side is definitely a lot better than the other. Not that the bar was set very high to beat.
