I think Technical alpha should be avaibale for those who preordered the game and not to be a lotto choosing!
Don’t want to refresh my email every 10 minutes awaiting for a message that i am approved for technical alpha when i already preordered
They’re more concerned with how it runs on different machines.
It’s not about justice, they want the game to run well at release.
How they know my PC specs ?
Well, people who test and actually give feedback usually tell their specs so the company can better understand where how to fix said problem or work around it to make it more playable for them.
Blizzard does not sell access to their Alphas or Betas. Who gets in has nothing to do with money spent.
The list is usually something like:
- Friends and Family of Blizzard staff
- Media, influencers (streamers), web site devs
- Random lotto of everyone else who signed up.
The first two categories make up < 10% of the overall test group - although they tend to be more visible because they stream…
I am not expecting the first Alpha to be a large one. The Multiplayer tech Alpha which is second will likely have more test players.
Thanks for clarifying !
Did you read this, is does not matter what you (we) think.
Or Pre-purchase Now (does not include Technical Alpha access). ![]()
I think Technical alpha should be available who owns an old copy of both diablo and lord of destruction, these are real fan, not these who ordered resurrected
How bout anyone who still has the original CD for Diablo (windows 95) 1998 as they are the real fans.
ill give them both alphas :)) actually i dont care… i hope they going to release game in fall or winter, i dont want to spend all my summer next to pc
Is it okay if we just have the case? My cd shattered into a million pieces inside my cd drive back in 2002.
The app would notify you before the email notification would~
I’m watching like a hawk too

U mean the APP will automatically notify u if Alpha is released ?
Just install d2 and play it. If needed, get plugy installed for shared stash.
Both Alphas have no benefit to the gameplay experience and are actually pretty useless.
What matters is when we start playing in a server and the race begins.
Blizzard does not give out keys to Alphas or Betas anymore. They directly enable game access on your Battlenet account. When you start the app and go to the Diablo 2 R tab, the option to log into the Alpha will be there IF you got in.
For now though, they have not given us a time for the Alpha start.
Again, Blizzard does not base participation on past money spent. They want input from a wide variety of players. Old players, new players, casual players, ladder players, etc.
Ideally, D2R will still be the great game it was and maybe also attract new folks who want to play and see what it was all about.
In the old days, it was a manual process that a user would initiate. But now it’s done automatically by the game launcher.
If it was up to me you would be in.
I check every single new Email immediately
I wonder if previous testing experience puts you higher up on the list. Ive done some of the alphas/betas before for blizzard. Would be really cool. I love finding bugs, found a bunch with the necro for d3 hehe~.
I believe betas do have some priority on players who have played betas in the past - especially when one offers lots of feedback. I have been in almost every beta since WC3. I could just be lucky but it seems like I been in almost every first wave.
I do opt out of the WoW Beta’s since I have zero interest in them… or OW bleh
