Tal Rasha’s Tomb Completed no Credit Stuck in Act 2

I opened the portal and killed Duriel but it didn’t complete the quest so I’m stuck in Act 2 with no staff to run it again. Can’t go on to Act 3.
I didn’t see a portal open to talk to Tyrael after looting the boss and TP’d to town. Am I screwed with a ‘dead’ character now?

I have the exact same problem. Hopefully someone can help. I don’t want to do this all over again :frowning:

EDIT: Ok, I’m just dumb! Start a new game, kill Duriel again and finish Act 2 xD Worked for me at least

Yeap, same thing happened to me last night i beat duriel and saved and exit game. today it says i need to find the tomb again and i have no staff. i tried to farm the staff pieces but they do not drop

Have you tried to look if the wall in the tomb is still broken? IMHO you don’t need to get the staff a second time. If you break the wall once you dont need to get the staff - the wall is still broken. Just go to the right tomb and walk through the broken wall and kill Duriel again.

I joined a group today on the quest and completed it yay! I expected a portal and it was a hole in the wall so mission accomplished. On to Act 3.

I’m fairly certain the quest only completes after you talk to Tyrael deeper inside after defeating Duriel. After killing Duriel, the quest remains open and says something along the lines of “Explore deeper”. Only after talking to Tyrael does the quest complete. Leaving the game prior would likely just reset the Duriel spawn without quest completion, leaving the hole open to fight him again for another opportunity to complete it.

i’ve got the same issue. i tried redoing the quest, but my horadric staff is gone and there’s no hole in the wall. i can’t get the pieces back either.

Post a screenshot of the room. Chances are, it’s there but you’re just not seeing it. Once you’ve opened up the room to reach Duriel, you don’t need the staff anymore, nor can you gather the pieces again since you’ve already accomplished that task.

You have to kill the summoner in the same game you kill duriel in. Just go back to arcane and kill the summoner again before you kill duriel then Tyrael will appear to finish the quest.
