Take out “no drop” roll

Alternative to the /players X discussion, why not just reduce the “no drop” chance on kill to 0%? Or make it a flat 20% of “no drop”. Rather than variable based on player count.

That’s all /players X does anyways, as it relates to loot. Then there is no meta to steal questing games or go do tunnels during a baal run. Keep the benefit to more players as just exp bonus.

This solution removes griefing, keeps leveling meta intact, and let’s players farm optimally at any player count.

You all keep beating around the bush for the real reason you want /players X or this idea… More drops. This idea is even more obvious you just want more drops. You don’t want to come forward and just say “increase the drops” because you know it will be met with resistance.

Bots on the other hand: YEAH, LETS DO THAT! AWESOME IDEA!!1!1

Increasing the drops in the game will result in the game becoming a stale distant memory when the majority stop playing it because it’s boring. Low drops is what has kept us coming back for more all of these years.

So a big No from me.

Because its horrible idea lol.

Watch out the gatekeeps are here to tell you your idea is bad! Any changes to D2 would result in BOTS making more profit which means you can never change the game!

Just doing what I can to prevent D2:R from becoming another lightning quick progression game like its successor.

But why Zax, it’s a legitimate idea. If you know anything about the no drop chance it’s not a big deviation and provides a win win for most.

Removes the benefit of griefing/not following objective of the game.

Remove benefit of soloing in group games.

The flat no drop rate is what can be variable and worth discussing.

I was pretty explicit with the benefit. Optimal farming… ie more loot. Actually my OP let an alternative of a flat no drop chance. I’d be fine with a flat 50% no drop. I just don’t want it to be beneficial to grief and no play the game creators intention.

FYI p1 no drop is 62.5%. I’d be fine with a flat 62.5% no drop across the board, which would decrease overall loot when in group games.

You go from wanting a flat 0% no drop to a flat 20% in the OP, and now you’re OK with a flat p1 no drop rate…

Make up your mind.

Yes maybe but at what cost? You will make game easier, it will get boring faster. Economy will be affected.

So you take a legitimate idea, where I’m clearly open to modifying my OP, and make a silly face emote to downplay it?

Would you prefer if I fought tooth and nail on one stance and never listened to reason? I expected more thought from you and Zax.

I’m not looking for your agreement as much as I’m looking for a discussion on the merits of the idea.

Good luck finding any merit in the idea, that’s all I can say.

I’ll go ahead and bow out now, because the crazyface emoticon seems to have struck a nerve.

I mean you use it for a reason. It’s a commonly used emoji to suggest the person you’re talking to is whacky. Fair enough, I appreciate you bowing out if you have nothing further to add to the discussion.

This discourages group play.

I am for p/x, but against this idea of yours. I think you should still have to work for your drops. P/x and splitfarm are significantly riskier for HC characters and also more exciting.

If your idea was implemented, I’d still rather join other games to splitfarm in. So, in short, I think p/x should be added to HC.

Group play is already discouraged which is why no one does it currently outside of leveling or PvP. All I want is a more challenging end-game once you get your character well geared. could be a new difficulty setting that has the same drop chance as the current P8 but is more challenging.

You mean this discourages group botting and game hijacking.

I recognize that group play is already suboptimal. However this suggestion makes it worse.

If people want to play in a group, they still can. No one seriously groups for loot. You either split farm (I.e not even playing together) or leech/carry.

That is correct but I don’t see why grouping should be made actively worse than it already is.

Low drops and 1 in a million chances are two different things. Some people would like to find a high rune or end game loot before a ladder ends. Just because you increase something slighty does not wreck anything when the chances are terrible.
