I had the unfortunate experience of noticing one of my offline characters on Switch was completely missing. Most unfortunately is that it was my rune bank character, and I lost everything I was saving up towards endgame rune words. (yes, I checked back through every character I had trying to find where I might have placed the items mistakenly). I had 22 offline characters at the time I noticed this.
I have been having fun playing Diablo 2 since launch on both PC and Switch, and was actually going after Holy Grail on Switch, but this was too much to deal with. I am quitting D2R outright.
As a developer myself, I encourage the team to look into what issues might cause an offline character to completely disappear. You assuredly want to grow your userbase, and while I enjoy the hell out of the game, I’m unfortunately DONE with it.
