Curious if the changes to the mercenaries will persuade anyone to abandon an Act 2 merc.
With Spirit Wolves getting Cold damage, it certainly helps dealing with physical immunes. While the Act 2 mercs still might be best, I’m debating changing things up to see if there is something else I prefer.
The Act 1 mercs having the aoe damage is intriguing, especially if given a faith bow to boost the summons.
Also looking at an Act 3 Fire merc. With the cold damage from spirit wolves, adding some fire damage along with Enchant to your pets seems like it could be fun!
Any thoughts or ideas of what you might try?

Atm there is a huge problem, if they dont allow us summon more than 5 SW or 3 DW or 1 Bear, believe me you will barely see any summoner Druid after PTR.
Nothing will change no matter what, so merc isnt the problem nor it changes something.

Nothing beat might+decrep or might+Pride, or even might+decrep and Pride on druid offswitch.
Play the PTR, summons are powerful. They just need better ai and balance. The crows hit harder than anything. The bear and wolves don’t precede the character and are slow as hell.

I played the ptr. For 2 hours with med gear. Ravens do more dmg but as i said like 100000000 times, they exist on pd2 so i already know what they would do on ptr. Casting them every 2 seconds is annoying tho.
Wolves are just bad still. Barely i killed travi on p1 with 30 wolves lvl.
And then i did necro with the same skeleton lvl. I had 24 skeletons, i dont count revive, and i was destroying everything.
As long as druid is summon this OR that, as long as bear doesnt even cleave at least to compete with wolves, is just a bad spec yet again.
Some players need to understand that gear wont come from the sky in 1 day. We need to farm it somehow. If i can’t kill and progress somehow, i won’t find the end game gear. And i don’t want to start with sorc yet again and after 2 months to make the spec i like cause with sorc i can farm and druid wont kill anything.

I would like to try the new act 1 cold rogue. I just hope their freezing arrow and cold arrow ranges are increased to match their normal attacks.
Act 3 fire merc sounds good too for enchant, and I don’t mind including an Iron Wolf to the pack.
Us werebears have such a bad mobility problem that I may be stuck with harmony (until i quit due to how terrible the 9 max ias nerf is…)
I would say the other bow one which increases ias via aura , but now… what’s the point
Nothing beats a2 might + Pride for summoner in terms of +%dmg.
You may even use Pride on druid and Reaper’s Toll for decrep - this is the best item set.
I am thinking to do Lawbringer act5 merc, i know beating might act2 merc is very hard but Decr curse might be good
One way to make the other mercs as viable as the act 2 merc would be to give them spells or auras.
For the act 5 merc they should give the choice between one who uses valuable barb skills or one that focuses purely on melee BUT can dual wield.
They could grant specific auras to only some of the act 1 rogues and grant specific amazon spells to other actc1 rogues and give us a choice.
As for act 3 I think they’re headed in the right direction they just need to go further. I think he should be as aggresive and annoying as the act 3 priests who bombard us with spells or heal their allies.
Again here they could give us a choice between support type iron wolves who heal us and maybe raise our immunities or make us stronger or offensive type iron wolves who bombard the ennemy with spells.
I hope Blizzard reads and considers these ideas
I’m finding the Act 3 lightning/static merc is my favorite one for druid these days. I use the grizzly bear or the wolves to tank, and he reduces the health of all the monsters by 50%. It’s a strong combo…
