I tried dclone with my 76 assassin, the merc was toast in seconds. I have not yet tried with my 86 sorceress. What gear would you suggest is needed to take out, or at least tank, dclone?

still going to die, bosses have cheat damage for merc.
might be better off going with act 1 rogue using insight bow and maxed fire resist, and just continuously teleporting her out of harms way until you can kill him quicker.
make sure you have an Edge bow for your weapon swap
Tir - Tal -Amn hunter bow
and shoot him a couple times, if you go tow town then be sure to shoot him again when you return.
Just spec into hydra and grab a lower resist wand. When he spawns, WP to arcane and take that portal above. Dclone will be there. Lower resist, tele to the next room and spawn hydra. Rinse/repeat. I just killed him in about one min.
Unfortunately I only have one respec left and the tokens are not cheap! If I respec into Hydra, I will have to stick with it. Currently I am into Lightning + fireball.
i run lastwish n plague on my merc tell i get a grief. he also has ethh ap fort and erh shako tell i find better helm too lol and he can solo uber d i just cast lifetap if he starts to drop hp and walla
Act 5 merc? So you do not need Insight (no mana issues)?
