You should adjust graphic settings according to your hardvere, update all drivers, clean your system case.
Beta did this to me at the beginningI made some adjustments than it was fine.
Now i can run it on max settings no problem not 1 crash.

Could’ve been at work yesterday, but took the day off to play D2R. Nope - lost out on a day of productivity and couldn’t game, so it was a wasted day, all because some jerk-off in the office decided to start flipping switches where he shouldn’t have.
The beta ran just fine. There is no excuse for crap like this on a launch. I’ve never bought a game on launch day and been unable to LAUNCH THE CLIENT. WHAT IN THE ACTUAL !@#$.
hi acid…
why most would appreciate your advice. this problem has nothing to do with what you have suggested. it is a very specific issue with older CPU’s or CPU’s that run on budget type design. AVX is required on the cpu in order to launch the game. there are still a great deal of computers used today that do not have the ability to use AVX. AVX was not needed during beta (either alpha or the last beta). leading many people who pre purchased to make sure the game would run on their system, left short at release… the release client/build now requires it.
people who don’t have AVX compatibility … but could play beta, now can’t even start the game because of it’s requirement. there are alot of players who pre purchased this game, played the open beta, and can’t log a single second ingame or even reach the current issues surrounding rollbacks, micro stutter, character in game issues… ect. we can’t even START, the game…
it’s a bit deceptive and should have been made clear from the start. even if beta’s and builds can change quite easily AND are to be expected, this game breaking should have been warned about or AVX and non AVX adaptable. (as was in the beta)
all the best and thank you for your suggestions.
the other issue is the majority of laptops will not be able to work, and unlike avx patch, I dont think a patch can fix this. Most laptops do not have a gpu that meets requirements. I never thought my 18 month old $1000 laptop would be inadequate. The issue many people like me is having, is MANY people use laptops so that should have been a factor, and blizzard sucks are sharing this information. I had to learn about it from a CNET article
game is not gonna work on your nephalem chip, you need far more better hardware.
I see Ty and all the best to You as well
I had the game run last night but same issue as you guys today
Apparently a patch fix on the way
just an update… for those having the same issue and are waiting for a “patch”
i just received confirmation on my refund. i am not happy about it. i wanted to revisit d2. but what was conveyed to me from the GM was that the AVX is most likely here to stay. there will most likely be no patch for the game to allow for non AVX chipsets. so that leaves you the option to submit a refund request… buy a new CPU… or take the 40$ loss.
either way… hope you find this helpful… and relieved you don’t have to swim through the other issues, like rollbacks, item loss, gold loss, character stuck ingame, sound issues, server downs, and an overall shoddy WC3 called D2R release.
all the best and gl out there.
I’ve learned to expect launches from blizzard to go like this…Shouldn’t be surprised man. Sucks for you though. Just find something else to make you happy with your time off.
I am sick of it and I just cant do it anymore. I just canceled my TBC classic account. I am not giving this company another freaking dollar of my hard earned money. I rather go out there and put that money into some other new game. $40 dollars for this freaking headache. I just read the notes and they were saying that don’t expect a fix until freaking Monday, are you f’n kidding me. It didnt take them 4/5 days to take my 40 dollars now did it.
So another Tuesday comes. Tuesday! Patch Day! The day when the devs get to mend the errors that always plague a new launch! And then there is this undocumented system requirement that seems to be limited to a chip design that was not a part of the beta builds that the devs have chosen not to fix, limiting those players who have FULLY compliant systems otherwise to NOT being able to run this game.
I am not a sour grapes kind of person. I still enjoy my Blizzard games and pay for them regularly, but I am not happy or satisfied at the response thus far. Can I play? Sure, on my laptop, without big happy screens.
This is a sub-optimal situation that has cost me time while my peers have already beaten Hell mode Baal days ago.
Guys, please fix this.
Yup… I have been looking forward for a D2R for 20 years and they did me dirty. I can’t even express how frigging pumped I was to be part of the launch and first playthrough and now that feeling is gone. Blizzard you let me down again man…
AND…they continue to take people’s money with similar chipsets that also can’t run the game. You would think this would be a priority in their backlog. I mean how many sprints does it really take?
This is funny. When I can still play D3, Overwatch…etc, but can not play this remake.
Can I just start the game with the legacy mode at least, please?
I just tried today on my old configuration computer and it work fine with all minimum setting.
