Sorry I’m posting this here, I’d post in the necro section but nobody posts there really. Anyways I’m a lvl 88 bone necro and I’ve been wearing a stealth since I could make one. Someone recommended to make a Bone as I feel my dmg is lowish at 2700-2900 bone spear and my resistances are kinda okay with my fire capped and lightning and cold at 70 and 72 and poison is 37 lol. I’m in single player so I can’t trade my Um runes to anybody and don’t know what else I could do with them. What do you think? Have you used a Bone before? Is it good?
your first objective as bone necro is to get your fast cast rate to at least 75% (125% ideally) and only after that you should think about other armor options
to sumarize, if you can use bone WO losing your 75/125 fcr breakpoint, do it
if you arent 75/125 fcr, get it first
hard to beat vipermagi before enigma

I have 130 fcr so if I lost the stealth I’d be at the 75. So it’s either the +2 skills or extra breakpoint that’s why I’m not sure what I should do. I’d use a viper magi if I found one but I don’t wanna switch back to nightmare and lose out on all my
Maps in hell cuz they’re very good.

the problem is, getting to 125 should be easy for a bonenec
and youre problably missing an important fcr on another gear piece
the basic gear for 125 WO the armor is the following
1/10 ammy (10%)
2 fcr rings (20%)
arachs belt (20%)
trang’s glove (20%)
spirit offhand (35%)
boneshade/white RW main hand (20-25%)
do you check all these boxes?
lastly
if your Bspear is hiting for 2700-2900, getting two more lvls on it will give you 10% more dps, losing the 125% bp is a 10% dps loss
so its up to you, i personally wouldnt trade faster animations for more dmg if there isnt any net gain, faster animations means i get moving faster and thats all that matters if im a no enigma peasant
if anyone on planet earth told you to wear anything other than Enigma, they are toying with you. Nothing compares to Enigma. Teleport? 2 skills? a billion free magic find? so much strength that you dont even have to have any strength? that’s free vitality. like hundreds.
i dont know why everyone is trolling you, but get Enigma or get lose. if your dad walks in the room and asks if you’re winning, you check your gear and if you dont have an Enigma, you say “no”.

There is a method to do uber Tristram with bone armor, so it is not a total waste.
They are discussing bone runeword. Are you deep fried?

You’ve been trolled. I’ve been playing D2 for 2 decades and never seen anyone using Bone. Actually no one using any of the 1.11 RWs besides Treachery (and even this not by an Assassin for its +2 class skills, but by any class or hireling for 40% IAS).
I say stick with stealth.
Ums are useful and you might want to just cube them up
its bc people tend to avoid necro if they dont have an enigma
in fact, people tend to avoid everything, except something niched like a pally only for ubers, but sorc before getting an enigma
I dunno why. They are probably the easiest to farm cows on early on w.o gear.
Bone armor is a great medium game armor to use
+2 skills
lotsa mana
and +30 to all res [especially for HC]
I think it’s worth the runes and better than stealth.
