State of Diablo Roundtable Request

Blizzard, with the upcoming changes outlined in Balance Patch 2.4, there are fundamental problems and think the game would best be served if you hosted a roundtable with some D2R streamers, such as MrLlamaSC, dbrunski125, Coooley, MacroBioBoi, Ginger Gaming Mentor and others, to discuss and re-evaluate some of the decisions that were made and come up with a defined path forward on improving the state of the game.

To be honest, the streamers seem to understand the game better than the developers and think a roundtable with the community would be a big step in the right direction. Blizzard did mention in the developer update with MrLlamaSC that diablo is much a Blizzard game as the community.

Agreed, this would greatly improve the patch.

As long as Dbrunski gets to talk over Mr. Llama, since Dbrunski actually wants more builds to be viable and more QoL.

Jk, but not really. Lol

Between MrLlamaSC and dbrunski125, they are a wealth of knowledge when it comes to D2.

I would include cooley on that list as well. He understands end game pvp way better than those other streamers and is actually pretty good at it. He knows a lot of top players so could reach out to them and present concerns from that community.

i mean i get the need for input from players that have extensive knowledge of the game but do they have to be the streamers?

i like DB,llama, GGM and so on…you know the people that stream the game regular…but why should they be the “ambassadors” that blizz takes seriously?
we have alot of,sometimes, heated debate here on this forum. isnt that already a good source of input?

popular streamers do help with publicity and for us folks who watch regularly also entertainment but in no way shape or form do i think a roundtable should be limited to twitch players.
iam pretty sure there is a large amount of players right here on this forum who have similar knowledge of the game and its mechanics like the more known streamers. yes people disagree, debates get heated sometimes but overall i think this forum is a good source for blizz to gauge the opinions of the playerbase.

not hating,just my 2 cents

if they actually care for feedback from the knowledgable d2 player base you know where they would need to go right?

lol thats not happening so the streamers can be middle men

see thats my point, the “in the know” players already have a voice…so to speak…with the popular twitch streamers. the community knows them to be lovers of the game and knowing all the intricate mechanics…fair enough.

i play D2 since its release…not every day and not religiously. i play it for fun and know the basics of why i like this game so much. i think if a roundtable with the community should happen, which i really like the idea of,it should include all aspects of the community.
new players, old players,HC players who know everything about breakpoints and hidden mechanics, the devs and people who really know the ins and out and can provide feedback towards endgame/PvP content.

Yes, Coooley is definitely needed when discussing PvP! Thanks.

Definitely would need pvp pvm diversity not 9 pvmers and 1 pvper or visa versa lol. Or we would all be wearing dreams and hoj dragons on every class just to cruise through the game and farm. Then go hostile and then be like “goodluck hope your fire res is higher than mine!”.

One of my concerns is that I feel like small adjustments should constantly be pumped out. It’s already pretty clear that some of the changes are really bad. If they don’t patch soon, what should I expect? One adjustment patch before the game goes live that for all we know is worse than the first one?

All they really changed so far was bugs to things they didn’t mean to change.

They need something better than the Blizzard approach. It feels very D3 like. “We will listen. Oh you should test more weapons.” Patch goes live and no one likes it as expected.

So yeah talking to streamers and giving us an idea on what they know would go long ways.

yes please this is how we can avoid a brawling type garbage can situation from developing.

what makes you think that? besides a few things that should be improved me personally…iam very happy with this patch. does my voice or better, players who disagree with your sentiment matter less?

I can only share my experience how PTR and patching goes on D3. So the patch notes come out, PTR begins, for the first week they monitor feedback, after the first week, they update the patch notes, whit the changes based on feedback. Second week, more testing more feedback, PTR closes, a week passes and the final patch notes come out, then Ladder starts. There are rare occasions, when they further change some things on the go, after Ladder started.

So don’t worry, this is not how it’s going to go live.

personally i`m not a fan of cooley because all is d2jsp stuff , but have to say . i think from the streamer is the best for balance overall , pvp player always have very good knowledge from pve and pvp perspective ,

player like dbrunski125 in my opinion make the game so much more worst , the only think he care is about , min-max and bis . this just hurt the game , i take 2 min watch the feedback on youtube , and see is video about act3 merc and for him a merc need to be very
effective in a 8 player game :man_facepalming: , merc are just desing for 1 player game for helping solo player , they are never desing for what they are doing today , that why d2 become so bad now you have merc walking around with (Infinity)conviction :man_facepalming: that why the game is so broken patch 1.10 and later really ruine the game balance . that why balancing this game will be the chaos right now because min max player trying to make every build bis , remove Infinity or nerf it

everybody has they own feelings about stuff and its all valid. dont ever let some1 tell u ur own feelings on something is wrong, those ppl is the wrong ones bro.

some ppl like gettin punched in the cahooneys and thats cool, others dont like it so much. 2.4 is a sledgehammer to the family jewels on a lot of issues and some ppl not like that, others maybe they do. up to blizz to figure out which one should be foisted on us, if any.

I heard once Mr Llama saying that he believes that the player “roles” was to identify problems, not to solve them, which is the expertise of the dev teams. I think it’s a pretty wise vision.

So far I found the devs extremely capable of both keeping the core spirit of the game and starting to make some changes. I still feel patch 2.4 is D2, not any other game, which is a feat by itself in my opinion.

I understand nothing is yet perfect (plus we all have different expectations), but I personnaly think the dev team did a great job and I have no doubt they will listen to the feedback of this PTR.

I like and respect the streamers but honestly I’m tired of seing 90% of builds and testing running with infinity…

The shapeshifting druid is in a bad state, and they posted to try more weapons. They didn’t test a lot of stuff they did for more than a few seconds.

A lot of other changes they did, while not game breaking, did very little. Like Impale is garbage, but at least you can probably clear the game using Fend and a little charged strike for physical immunes.

thanks brother, thats how i feel too.

and thats why i think its important to include every aspect a player of this great game has.
iam casual you might say, others want more challenge,a more complex build and good endgame content. finding the place where most players can agree on changes is the tough one. hence a community roundtable would be fantastic. just not limited to twitch streamers only is what iam advocating for.

to me the devs of D2:R have done a phenomenal job of bringing this game to the 21st century while retaining the core feel. the tough issue is to update some of the outdated mechanics as well as “bugs” that have been part of the game since launch while keeping the spirit of what made D2 great in the first place.

i’d love an open disussion especially from people who i would probably disagree with. but thats how you find a meaningful compromise…or at least i would hope so… call me naive maybe

I don’t see why they would leave this in this state. The reasoning behind the change makes sense (basically the formula of speed was somehow “bugged” or at least no coherent with the overall game formulas), so we surely can hope that they adjust the speed after so many comments. Probably adding ias increase on the shapeshifting skills should be an easy fix?
