Started a new character (summon druid)

Awesome bloody idea that would help ALOT!Especially if the wolves deal magic damage instead of cold damage!

Same, I was thinking, surely you can find a bow / armor that freezes enemies and help yourself out.

My pure summoner druid is level 78, in Hell Act 1. HC, SSF. I find myself playing as actively as my other characters.

I constantly summon ravens to snipe or to blind, wolves and bear to reposition them.

Maybe with high end gears you no longer need to manage your summons. But as SSF, there are enough things to do to keep you busy.

So giveing your pets a little support, and be in the feel of the fantasy, I always like to be a WB. Heavily Summoner can use a Beast and be good. But you could turn away from this rute, if you have more AR to grab. Which WB lacks, but could open up more weapon options, so you can have quite better CB, OW, DS, and since WB can’t be interupted, but lacks AR, haveing Blessed Aim would be a good addition. And not to use A2 merc again. Not to mention you could kill Dclone and Ubers easyer.

And if I want to be a WB Maul heavy build whit summons on the side, an item whit Blessed Aim is again very good to have. Not to mention you surviveability jumps up significantly.

So this is just something from the top of my head, I realy haven’t thought it through.

People call me a purity sometimes because I’m personally not for changing too much, but my 2 cents is I just don’t want changes that reduce difficulty. Reason I’m against things like adding magic damage to druid, but fine with things like better AR for pets.

Improving kill speed is fine, I just don’t thing we need more magic dealing builds that ignore immunities, that just reduces the reason to build around the issue.

I mean hell I’m playing a FoH pally right now and I’ll be the first to tell you they need to nerf the crap out of it. Or just straight make it not ignore magic immune undead. (Even then it’s just too good at running chaos right now.

I don’t want magic dmg. Just more AR to turn to. I think cold dmg is good enough for Spirit Wolves.

I even think adding “some” cold damage to ravens would be a fine change personally. Cold/physical immunes are still not that uncommon so it’s something to work around still.

You can still have some Fisshure on the side.:wink:

ya, high end gear you do nothing. you teleport ontop of something and it dies.

one thing that people discount on summon druids is just how much they exponentially get better with + skills. i know thats true for all classes and specs, but druid summons get benefit from synergies beyond hard points. meaning a lvl 45 bear is giving an extra 25 synergy points to all the other summons.

Or if they could instead of magic damage add that for instance fissure or hurricane add extra fire or cold damage to spirit wolves some % like 10% per each for instance.
That would be even better making you go extra work with summons + elemental magic.
For instance +10% cold damage per hurricane and +10% fire damage to spirit wolves per fissure.
Also finding 9 summon charms as self found is blooody difficult even when playing grail character!

How about giveing them -% to cold/fire res?

I think the only issue with that is point wise you’d almost have to give up ravens.

And yeah skill charms self found can be a pain. Still just sitting on 3 combat charms on my pally.

Well Yeah, but you’re haveing more source of dmg slaped on top of eachother.

For instance necro just negates physical immunity with 1 first level spell.Played it for years now.
Since spirit wolf damage is bad it is bad its like 700 at 36 skill.Maybe give raven synergy to spirit wolf so it gains 1% fire damage per skill in raven making it strike with some extra fire adding act 3 merc with enchant making your zoo elementally diverse more.

Call me noob but i feel more playing SC SP self found lately than just buying stuff.

Ohh nice I almost forgot about A3 merc. Now we’re either over complicateing stuff or starting to solve the build. :laughing::laughing::laughing:

Honestly I’d rather see Spirit of Barbs reworked into something actually useful. Like… adding elemental damage.

I m testing with ACT 3 merc right now just to check all combos from start to finish playing summoner with new toon now lvl 50 so we will see how it goes.

If spirit of the BARB gave cleansing aura instead of that useless thorns it could solve alot of potential problems or something similar to that.
