Has it been confirmed that they will include stacking of certain items?
no it hasnt been a confirmed addition to the resurrected.
No, they actually said the opposite. They do not want to allow item stacking or increase the size of the players inventory. something something choice something.
Not sure how this applies to the stash specifically though. Since they already added more space and an extra tab… i hope they keep going and at least add a few more tabs. Fingers crossed.
Ok thanks. Yes I do hope there will be a lot of stash tabs. I usually play Hardcore so the old stash amount is simply outdated
Old stash was so small due to when the game came out servers could not hold so much safe data as now, so stash space was limited. Now they can add at least 3 stash spaces + one for share. will not affect gameplay at all, just will help players keep all important runes till they find proper socketed item. Also gems for some cube recipes.
… this is 100% false… first off they already increased stash space to 10x10 in beta
and what they said on inventory space was they “wouldn’t be adding more inventory space that could be used for charms” because that would affect balance, saying allowing more charms to be used would affect balance in a bad way.
which EVERYONE agrees with… no one here wants more charms… we just want more space that CANT be used for charms… which is something they pointedly avoided discussing.
so yeah… people keep saying “oh they said they wouldn’t do charm inventory”
no they didnt… they said that wouldn’t add more space that could be use for charms… which is expressly what a “charm inventory IS NOT” as the entire concept of it was to add more inventory space but NOT allow more charms
Adding a stackable function to runes and gems
–Pros: easier in game currency. Better management for consoles
–Cons: Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh … Can anyone think of one?
Decision making is still part of the game
The cons was a rhetorical joke right, or do I need to answer?
Why wouldn’t you answer? With the new shared stash, what arguments are left against stackable gems? Gem shrines would be weird?
The obvious answer: the severity of rollback duping.
I don’t really believe in making rules based on how certain things will be abused, so I definitely did not think of this. It is a very good point, though I would rather see a solution to the root issue: rollback duping. Opposed to not implementing something that could greatly help the trading community stay within the base game.
Yeah I’m cautious. If they really were sure they could eliminate duping, I could care less about stacked gems or runes.
I’m skeptical
Be skeptical until you can remove all doubt. That is how the real solutions are found.
I believe they can do it. The question is, will they do it if it’s not in their best interest? In a short sited view, and at a financial standpoint, there is definitely evidence that blizzard fiscally benefits from dupers and botters. That being said, should we always remain looking through a grim looking glass? I do think Blizzard has a large amount of its workforce who are fighting for changes that will ultimately implement better customer loyalty, in turn raising profits for the company. Skepticism remains, but so does hope.
Edit: Aha! They only stack while in stash, not the cube or inventory.
Inventory management is an integral part of the game that many (me included) enjoy.
my only gripe with stackable runes and gems, is people want them to stack on each other as a 1x1 object. Like how keys work.
I would rather there be Gem Cases / Rune Cases, that you can use to hold stacks of runes. Like how scroll tomes work.
Say a Case is a 1x2 object, that could hold 15-20 of a class of gem or rune, that would still greatly reduce stash need to hold that many and imo, visually be more “Realistic”.
I would have them sold by one of Act 4 merchants, maybe Jamella.
Never thought of this in that way, but could be like a mini pouch inside the bag. I think WOW does this, it’s been too long since I played that one.
My only reason for not wanting like a Pouch like object, is dealing with that on consoles would imo, be a pain in the butt.
I think like Rune Case, put El rune on it, Changes to El Rune Case (1/15) Maybe have the case icon, gains an engraving of the rune on top? So you can see at a glance which case holds what rune/gem.
Edit:
Idea for pouch object, but it only holds Jewels, Rings and Amulets, Jewelry Box. BAM! Make it a 2x2, holds like 20 1x1 objects. SO I dont have rings and jewels all over everything in the stash. Maybe make it a quest reward for one of the quest that doesnt really have a “Reward” like maybe as a reward for completing the Tainted Sun quest? Have Drognan give it to you as a reward?
Could do what PoE does have a stash tab dedicated to runes/gems only allowing them to stack in stash and take them out 1 by 1 or what have you. Though we not sure what the engine is capable of doing and how hard that be. I think every one just happy enough with the extra inventory we given +shared stash.
personally, to me that feels like how the currency tab is in wow and I hated that in wow.
