As a long time D2 / D3 player ive always wanted to have a SSF mode with a seraparte ladder. Like they have it in POE. It slows down the gearing process and it takes the game who a whole level, where you dont just trade yourself to the runes/gear you need.
Blizzard is it something you have thought about?
Anyone else who would like a SSF mode for D2 Resurrected / Diablo 4?

Most definitely I would love this… even in offline play.
Simply so that each solo self found character will gain the use of the 3 shared tabs for him/herself.
Part of what I love about a dedicated SSF is that you don’t have to fret over gear that isn’t for your class. That is a liberating feature of SSF and especially appreciated in a game with such limited inventory space.
Quite frankly I’m shocked that D2, the grandaddy of all APRG’s doesn’t have it as a game play mode already, especially considering the anemic inventory space.
The possibilities with this game are endless. The only variable is if Blizzard will care enough to build on it. I’m not putting my money on that.
This seems like such an easy thing to do, and would help placate those advocating for more stash space.
I’ve thought about this too. Would play. But how do you prevent trades and muling? How does PoE handle it? Or is that fair game?
Easiest way is to just “tag” the items with a player code. Also, if you do signup for SSF, you could just disable the “Join Game” ability for that character in theory and that would isolate everything as well.
Last I knew you could still swap gear between different SSF characters on your account as the challenge was seen as on “the player” rather than “on the character” but this was Ironman self imposed stuff (+ hardcore) rather than PoE’s official system.
Yes, I know this is an old post that has been resurrected but I wouldn’t mind a SSF ladder as 80-90% of my playtime is SSF anyways. I would certainly have characters partake in it for certain and likely my main characters.
Will it ever happen? I doubt it. Part of what D2 sells is the group dynamic and so why would I officially want to support breaking that dynamic? I think as a community if someone wanted to make a SSF system that could work but it would obviously be on the honor system.
