Who here started playing HC SSF?
I started a barb, lvl 24 now in normal act 5. Best finds so far:
duskdeep (unique full helm)
bwerrit keep (unique tower shield)
soulflay (unique long sword)
I desperately need a better weapon immediately. Everything goes so slow with barb and players 1 
Magic finding in travi now and already shopped a teleport charges staff.
SSF HC is how I always play. Barbarians are hell as first character, or just low level in general without great gear. Very gear dependent.
Do you mean on battle net too?
Seems like its even harder online because theres no players command and static maps but I guess theres no rush.
After watching what happened last night im seriously thinking ill start HC.
In just a few hours i saw countless deaths from characters trying to speed run the game.
Nm chaos, diablo killed a few in the group like 30x meanwhile im standing near their hill of bodies slowly but surely clearing the area of the vast monsters they aggrod.
There should be WAY more punishment for death in SC.
I could walk to work too. I just choose to drive.
Hardcore is the only way to play in my opinion. What fun is a game you canāt lose at? Once you do it youāll never go back. Started Hc around 1.04 I think. Lol. Even in Diablo 1 when you died all your gear dropped right there on the dungeon floor. Without consequences thereās no tension. Itās boring.
Self Find HC all day brother.
Not completely solo though. Mostly on my own in a p8 setting but throw in the typical Trist runs, tombs, baal, etc. Usually not quick enough to click drops anyway ha. But if something is just lying there. Hey I āfoundā it.
Scavenging old cow portals is surprisingly engaging to me as well lol.
100% no trade as well. In game or otherwise.
I think playing in other peoples games for the increased exp is fine as long as you donāt party anyone and benefit from others. Otherwise it wouldnāt be called solo anymore.
Havenāt played hardcore in ages, but Iām giving a self-find run a go. Thinking about playing a Vengeance Paladin for a change of pace.
agreed completely. so i really just describe my style of play as self find. but itās probably better described as no trade.
Good progress today, lvl 37 in nm a2
What I found:
a lum rune in nightmare so made a smoke armor.
sigon gloves so now wearing sigon helm+gloves for ias+ar.
2 sock flanged mace so made a strenght runeword in it.
wall of the eyless for mana leech, I still havenāt found ring or amu with mana leech
3 sock ethereal war spear so made a malice runeword for a2 merc
crushflange unique mace from nm den of evill zombie boss
Have to say, this game is ridiculously badly balanced. With a caster you can be naked but with melee char you need to get super lucky with attack rating, mana leech, life leech, crushing blow itemsā¦ and you cant really farm because you are lacking the items to kill fast enough and because of that you cant really progress.
The good thing with SSF HC is that every new character is a first character. If you make it to the end with a Barbarian, people will appreciate your toil.
Was doubting to do this for a little while, but I donāt know, somehow I tend to avoid HC nowadays in Diablo and thatās completely because the last (I think) 5 HC chars died during realm down/rubberband/lag spike situations, and I donāt have this with different games.
Maybe these are fixed, but I just gave up on it and want to go back but I donāt know, guess I should have lost a few do to own fault maybe it would have been less of a bitter taste and the feeling that the next will be lost the same way.
Did a SSF SC without death till now though 
And drops were a pretty long list, was actually wondering whether they upped the drop rates because I found about 10ish set (low) and 4 maybe 5 unique by the time I killed Baal (in fact Baal dropped 4 set/unique items on the quest kill).
I did this with a barbarian on single player. Solo self found. Hardcore. Heās almost 97 now. Iāve played him off and on for years. Has two griefs, enigma, anni, torch. You get it. The road to that point was one of the most fun experiences Iāve had paying this game.

Ugh makes your more Die-Hard than hardcore itself.
Maul-Werebear after the nerfhammer to shapeshifting attack speed.

Hehe I am a little chicken thatās why I went with werebear, I am a hardcore newbie and I am trying to get the level 99 trophy on the console ^^
Yea I played werebear on softcore before and he is much slower now which sucks

Just started SSF HC. Was going to do it offline but i want the option of running terrorised zones.
Starting with a pally.
Something crazy just happened.
In one LK run in nightmare I found:
+1 cold skills +7% faster run grand charm
+1 java skills +5 str grand charm
lum, shael, nef runes
But the sad fact is that these are useless to me. Why cant I find any weapons
