Just curious why people are going into ladder?
Maybe if I was more of a hardcore player I would be convinced it was worth it, but I can’t see the point for your average player when it comes down to it…
Anything i’m really missing?

Try if you are lucky with HRs.

For fun, usually. Unfortunately players such as myself are locked out of participating in ladder due to the character slot issue.

It’s for people that get bored fast, especially people that trade or play all day, they get bored VERY quickly so they need fresh economies constantly.

Well it was fun 15 years ago.
Now it would feel like a waste of my time time to
A) Lvl another character without rush
B) Play without eq
C) Gather items again
So yeah ladder feels pointless to me now.
I prefer to improve my main character as much as possible or to not play at all.

Well for us in our clan, we want to try to get as high up the ladder as we can in hardcore, but the new economy, the challenge and the journey are all things I love about a new ladder season.
Non ladder is a dead mode.
Too much wealth accumulated and will over time. Offer EL need Zod

Ladder offers Rune Words that you can not get in normal. I assume it will go back to this way once they release it.
There are Ladder Competitions and Races that take place.
The economy resets are important for letting new or returning players start on even footing for both PvP and PvE content.
Ladder gives PvE players something to work towards, a reason to be 99.
Oh god, why keep people asking this non stop. If you want to play ladder, play it. If not, dont. Do others have to tell you why you should play it?

I don’t see the point of non ladder lol. I build my characters on ladder and slowly i fill up the account as all they become non ladder. Why would i build them non ladder, it’s so much easy. I can build a new character there in 2 days, all kinds of help, i don’t even have to put one point to level the char, i have the maps, the items waiting in the stash, the ones i don’t have are very easy to trade and cheap. There are no games, you need to hunt to find people that want to level a character just when you want. There is a common place for all that and more, and its ladder, everyone knows the date and they are already eager to play after a break.
And yeah, usually enemies had more hit point and more agressive ai, i don’t know about that nowadays. And new runewords if you fancy them, some are cheap and good to level : you don’t need them in non ladder, you want a grief or ebotd, not unbending will. Everything its just more usable and thus exciting to find in ladder. I don’t care about finding a shako nonladder, it’s a very easy to find item i usually have one dropeed for me in second week, we are now 7 months in, nonladder it’s just meh.
Do what you want as everything will become eventually non ladder. I say it’s more fun to level you new desired build in a ladder, that the bad timing and solitary lands of nonladder.

Its not a 100% rule, but ladder is appealing for the type of people who trade for their items. Non-ladder better if you are a dedicated self found player where other’s “wealth accumulation” means nothing to you.

Also your average player doesn’t have a lot of time, maybe several hours per week between work, family/friends/ other games, like grouping up for overwatch or something on the side. So gearing a character can take a year or even 2 for most people, making ladder kinda pointless… though… if you where a brand new player when ladder started, there wouldn’t be a reason not to start in ladder I gues.

Fidning an Aldurs Rhyme will make your character amazing where he was poo before. Imagine that first Anni that pops. No day 1 teleporting immortal hammerdins.

wth. why do you have 20 chars??? like damn lol i made one of each and was good until i made my barb only WW and wanted a frenzy barb also
and you can always remove one and just make one exactly like it in the ladder. its going to last a while anyways. youll have plenty of time to gear up and everything.
Barbs alone can take up at least 9 slots if you are doing WW and Frenzy for each mastery type.
