barring the truly exotic choices, such as 4um’d s.targe for resist
the main shields for a smiter are

HOZ
EXILE
PHOENIX <–many refuse to use it because firestorm slows down smite (10fpa vs 6fpa)

unless you are in a “gm” room dueling with before-hand agreed to rules, generally speaking (almost) all duel rooms are always “bm” meaning “do w/e the game allows to win”

therefore what is strongest and best is best

therefore aside from the bonus lifetap, the defiance aura and extreme defense of exile make it THE go-to shield in say, smiter vs ww barb

i am an og’s og i bought d1 from electronics botique

i participated in d2 beta when barbarians ruled the day and you where godly if you had 2x 3pgem swords glowing beautifully in the chat lobby (d2r: WHERE is chat lobby? tf is this?)

i’ve played most classes, and despite everyone wanting to pretend to be the og

i am truly the og, with truly 10’s of thousands of hours of actual gameplay time in this game

when they removed e-bugging, they nerfed smiter paladin

his exile is much weaker now in defense against physical attacks: it blocks them less

smiter is STILL op

i have played all classes but i am smiter main

in 1.10 i remember maintaining 3 smiters 1 uber 1 gm 1 bm dueler
(we didn’t used to have infinite respecs like now: and ppl cry about respecs STILL. wow)

anyways, that’s enough

just wanted to point out this fact

in addition to hurting our cool toys like e-dreams, and smecksi fortitudes passing 4k

in addition to LOWERING item diversity (now what use is a non-superior eth)

they have BLATENTLY nerfed smiter

VV hardcore nerfed smiter with the removal of e-bug

rip this idea of no balance changes: it’s DEAD

they are introducing NEW RUNEWORDS also: RIP the current ‘balance’

The most important issues for the current development team are bug fixes and server stabilization. Once they are resolved, we will prepare for the introduction of the season. The implementation date of the season has not yet been decided, but special rune words and powerful monsters will appear, so please look forward to it.

We also have some ideas for non-season updates. I’m sorry I couldn’t tell you the details, but please look forward to it as well.

if you can’t improve on the LOD lobbies, at least don’t drastically REDUCE the quality

for just an uber smiter yes, there is no reason to spend a lot

they are cheap and easy for sure

Oh ya and you can just put in like 4 p diamonds in there for that extra res early on.

i noticed they at least added back the characters to the bottom of the screen in lobby

i noticed they all improved it to be able to tab between boxes like we had been able to in LOD

improvements, but the functionality still needs a lot of work

keep up the progress!!

Next time, try using a poetic form of an acrostic or an amulet. That would make your posts really shine.

I honestly wouldn’t mind any range of mild to wild seasonal adjustments to the base game, as long as these changes didn’t stick around afterward.

The base game should remain mostly the same when playing non-season though.

There will be old bugs fixed and new bugs created. Things are not going to play exactly as they did before. Hell even controller support/GUI fundamentally changes PVP. Adapt.
