Smite Balance Changes Discussion

Can we discuss how getting the smite skill on any paladin makes ubers trivial, and no melee class can hope to compete with a smiter in PVP. What sort of things can be implemented to address this? Maybe that is what needs to be fixed. Thoughts, comments, insults, racial slurs, troll replies?

That’s your opinion buddy. Me and majority of people I would bet are open to both nerfs and buffs.

Buff dclone and uber diablo by Adding physical immunity.

outside of melee duel, smiters are pretty weak in pvp
and they get beaten by barb ww in melee, tho its a close fight

Or we could give all heroes a skill that always hits and procks weapon stats. No need to deal whit Smite.

Smite is good/great at what it does, and sucks for everything else. Seems completely fine to me.

this is why i didnt suggest anything, i simply opened a thread to discuss from players that do know what they are talking about.

yeah, I think it would be better to just give each melee character an always hit skill option, we got impale now as always hit, and the assassin kicks if you have charges(maybe give viper always hit so you can always have leach option?), lets add Concentrate, maybe Feral Rage? Maybe Poison Dagger always hit?

Rather give more options for the other melee, then make Smite worse.

Tired of azz clowns nerfing games, make enemies harder, just leave the damn game alone from nerfs

Smite is definitely strong as hell, and nullifies every single melee build in PvP, in 2.4 the only other melee that has a chance is Fury Wolf, and the smiter still has the upper hand.

In PvM it is also ridiculously imbalanced against ubers, other classes can do it, but how easy a Smiter does them is laughable.

Needs a nerf to stun and removal of KB, should be blockable, it can keep the Ignore target defense part.

What does it suck at? I it is a great skill in almost any situation and game mode

There is no way a WW Barb can beat a smiter in D2R, it was already hard in D2:LoD it is completelly impossible in D2R, WW has 2 less hits, if Smiter uses BA to match range, WW barb has ZERO chance, only Fury Druid due to FHR changes has a chance in D2R for melee

Ever used Smite in general PvM play? It’s on the same level or worse as pre 2.4 FoH. Which was widely considered one of the worst PvM abilities in the game at the time. So there’s one thing it sucks at.

Yeah it is for single target, not multi target, but even a 1 point smiter can do wonders in both PvE and PvP.

In 2.3 before the FHR changes a 1 point smiter could still kill every single melee build in the game, how dumb is that?
