Skills that need to be reworked (IMO)

I’ll go by class, in no particular order, to make it easier:

Overall:
-Poison- Allow it to kill. The 1hp thing doesn’t make sense.
-Act 3- New quest objectives. Currently too similar to Act 2. No variety.
-Resistance- All immunities can be broken… somehow.
-Magic- Needs resistance added.

Amazon:
-Charged Strike- Wayy too powerful for what it is and doesn’t require attack rating to hit.
-Lightning Fury- Wayy too powerful, can wipe mob groups easily with a ton of damage.
-Valkyrie- Less synergies to be effective.

Assassin:
-Fade- Percentage damage reduction and resistance make this skill very powerful.
-Venom- Needs synergies
-Kick- Needs synergies

Necromancer:
-Poison Dagger- Make it a ranged ability.
-Poison Nova- Increase nova spread speed.
-Bone Spirit- Increase spirit projectile speed and turn smoothness.

Barbarian:
-Warcry- Needs to be buffed and needs different synergies
-Whirlwind- Needs a synergy

Paladin:
-Auras- Some auras need synergies and some need additional synergies. ex. Prayer
-Smite- Needs an attack rating.
-Blessed Hammer- Less hammers out at once, damage lowered.

Sorceress:
-Frozen Orb- Increased projectile speed (orb and bolts)
-Blizzard- Larger AoE, damage lowered.

Druid
-Ravens- Currently overpowered. Needs damage decrease and more ravens possible.
-Twister/Tornado- Needs better movement. More predictable movement.
-Hurricane- Larger AoE.
-Spirits- Needs to be able to have multiple spirits out at once.

Sorceress

  • Teleport
    • added range 2yards at lvl1 and +1yard per +lvl,
    • added Cast Delay 0.1 at lvl1 and increasing by 0.1sec per +lvl.

Hmmm. What’s the concept? They throw the dagger? And poison is spread by the dagger bounceing/ricochet to other enemies in an area? Or maybe pierce? That would be cool.

And yet amazon is good mf char with infinity. Without it are your option quite limiting. Both skills are not op. Infinity is what makes it op.

Its not that powerfull, assasin need it as she is designed to be using two claws so your res and block chance is lower.

Kicks are very strong, no issue there. Issue are charge skills and the fact that kicks cant deal that much dmg because of immunities.

Poison nova is strong enough honestly.

I dont agree, skill is very powerful with area stun already.

I have my own topic about dream version of d2r i am creating for offline play with some modding not sure if you have seen it but i instead gave passive affects for investing skills in auras.

Absolutly not, this will make orb worse as currebtly it copy movement of targets well if you know how to aim it. Faster orb would not be able to do that and it would result in less damage with skillful play.

I dont think they are, they struggle quite a lot against high level bosses and dont benefit from dmg auras.

Most importsntly last one should be replaced with new aura lowering physical and fire resistance.

for Druid Summon prespective

Ravens are fine. Wolves needs bleed effect and Bear Crushing Blow Or cleave ability. The build is awesome but takes long since summons do ST dmg and have no CB.
Spirit of barbs on the other hand, is a trash skill which needs to change asap. Does no dmg in return and doesnt even worth 1 skill.

WW… Ahh WW.
Whirlwind needs NO sinergy , it needs the core mechanics of the skill to be fixed . NO ww didnt get buffed , Ppl that think ir Got better are using D2r ww as it’s mirror… the thing is D2R ww was wayyy worse than LOD and only Got a Lil better BUT still weaker than LOD.

  • pros : some runewords can be used to reach max fpa that previously couldnt ie: (death)
  • middle of the Road ww breakpoints can be ez yo achieve.

Cons :

  • the IAs needed to reach max fpa got significantly increased , forcing IAs sources from gear . That was NOT the case before.
  • 2handed NON swords ww Got wtfpwned … You CANNOT reach 4fpa but a max of 5fpa … Weaker and exotic build Got Even weaker … almost extinct outside “for the looks”
  • AND the Big one … ww is NOW affected by slows … HUGE nerf . Wich pretty much forces Even more the phaseblase dependency (and grief depen).

SO no ww. Needs profund dices not sinergies.

Also … bash is crap , stun is useless, leap attack is useless as an attacking skill (read attacking Main skill, don’t come with "oh i can leap attack and then ww "… I Got leap to do that ) …

If they change teleport, they will lose the only players they have left on d2r

You mean less than ~100 boomers from jsp??? While PD2/PoD/Median all nerfed Teletrash got far more more ppl LOL.

Strange that they never reached more than 10k players and had to change 70% of the game to make it work. Like perma p5 drops + increased drop rates.

Pd2 “reached” 15k in single Ladder while OGD2 in the same time around 20k and ~90% were bots lol. After big ban wave in 2017 iirc BN was full of less than 3k ppl lol.

They need to make bosses drop better – and make blue sparkling chests in non-quest areas drop far better, and we will be fine without teleport.

In Castlevania: Harmony of Despair, you’re fine spending 10 minutes killing one single boss – because the boss has a 1 in 20 of dropping the best, for your class, among the items in that boss’ pool of items.

When you slow down the farm, you can compensate by improving the reward – and it’ll be just as addictive.
Diablo 2’s problem is the massive RNG-nature of drops, where you need hundreds or thousands of runs to have anything to show for your time spent.

Simply nerfing the main method of clearing the content fast only means you’re farming slower – meaning the insane grind becomes slower.

Keys: Triple drop rate of current.
TC87 and other godly treasure classes, and the best rare affixes: Triple of current.
High runes from bosses: Triple of current.
…and we should be fine with a teleport nerf.

I don’t think Ravens are overpowered. They attack pretty slowly and can’t benefit from any auras. Curses can increase their damage, but their blind overrides curses!

Spending over 3 hours killing 1 boss for an item you know you’re going to get in that time frame doesn’t sound like something that endures as years of fun. It sounds like it would get old, fast.

It’s one of the very things that makes D2 so fun over multiple decades.

how about “larger AoE, increased cooldown” instead? make this an AoE spell, not a boss farming spell

should work with throwing knives not just in melee mode but in ranged too. So you get 2 abilities for a skill point. Poison Dagger - Stab; Poison Dagger - Throw.

Nice. I like that even more.

So I would finish game in 3 months and be done with it? Currently it took me almost a year of playing game (with some breakes) to get somewhat endgame items in „ssf mode”. At least for pala, still working towards merc gear. I would say it’s good pace for a game.
