Hi,
I think the x% applied from skills to synergies are not being applied correctly.
I had around 3800 max damage on blizzard, I leveled and I placed 1 point in Icebolt.
Icebolt should provide 5% to blizzard for each level but my tooltip shows now 3873 max damage.
5% from 3800 should be like 190 damage not 73 or less.
Maybe I do not understand how exactly this works but it seems like a bug.
I used a simple site to calculate the damage my blizzard should have with 22 points in icebold , 28 in iceblast and glacial spyke and Blizzard, and I should have almost 5100 max damage on blizzard. Yet here I have 3800…
You only get synergies from hard skill points, which caps at 20 per skill.
Synergy bonuses are not compounding. It’s base blizzard damage times the sum of the synergy bonuses. If you had 150% synergy bonus and then increased it to 155% synergy bonus, the correct way to calculate it would be to divide your blizzard damage by 250% and then multiply by 255%.
Ok this is clear. Some one explained this to me, but why is the site calculating different the damage.
I cannot post the site http:…www.diablo1.ru.poleznoe.calculator.php
just erase the dots and add /.
This right here is incorrect as stated above, ONLY SPENT POINTS count for synergy values. Any points from +skills do NOT give synergy boosts. And as stated the bonus is from the base value.
I would trust calc sites with a grain of salt.
And you said 3800 which is about where it should be.
Base level 28 blizzard is 990-1047 if my math was right. I’m going to say you had +8 to cold skills total (28-20) so IB would be at 14 hard points so 20+20+14 x 5 is 270% or a 3.7x multiplier.
Final damage is 3663 - 3873.9
Next Point in IB would make it 3712.5 - 3926.25 (+49.5-52.35 increase)
