Single player save files missing

Was looking to transfer some old single player saves from D2 LOD to D2R. I have created a single player toon in D2R but the folder isn’t showing up in windows. I see the D2 LOD folder but no D2R. I also tried searching for the D2R single player character using its name, but that didn’t work either. Any suggestions?

This is NOT a bug.

You are probably looking in the wrong place for your Offline save files.

They should be in your Users/Saved Games folder. For example, mine are located in:

C:\Users\perus\Saved Games\Diablo II Resurrected

Just copy your D2:LoD Character files to that folder.

(And you would be wise to keep a backup of these files, preferably on a separate drive, in case they get corrupted).

Yes that is where I’m looking…only folder in there is D2 Lod as stated in the post.

It sounds like the official Saved Games folder has been moved then. You will have to find it on your own. This is not a bug.

That’s what I thought. But even when I search the character name nothing comes up…

Assuming you are running a Windows 10/11 PC with no weird network system (ie. you are not on a domain or VPN, not running a work machine with some specialized version of Windows, etc.):

  1. Open File Explorer and click on This PC on the left hand pane.
  2. Go to the top of File Explorer and click on the Search this PC box, then type in SharedStashSoftCoreV2.d2i and press Enter. It should find the file in the Saved Games directory. That is where all your other D2R save game files are.
  3. If it doesn’t exist on your PC, then I don’t know what to say. You either did something really odd to Windows, or you are running some strange network system.
