Just got an UM from nm forge, saved and exited for the night. Next morning my UM rune is gone and the quest is still completed… apparently there’s a dupe method on console as well… because the game isn’t saving properly when exiting a game… any fix for this soon that UM rune would have helped a ton in HC…

Save&exit twice before a hard close is a 100% fix to any future item loss. Also if you can stomach it, theres ways to dupe offline and then you can cube back up to that Um rune in about 5 mins.
Pardon my ignorance, but what do you mean by save+ext twice? reload char and save/exit again? close game completely, restart and save exit again with same char?

Before you hard close the game.
(Like hitting home button and closing game on ps4/5 or switch)
Just simply start another game with your character any difficulty etc and just hit pause/options and save&exit one more time.
Don’t hard close the game if you’ve only saved&exited once from inside a game.
Basically save&exit twice in a game before you close it if you’ve added ANYTHING to your shared stash. Also if you have organized your shared stash you will want to do that as well if you’ve added something new or moved around things from personal to shared.
Also NEVER hardclose from any part of the game other then the main menu where the character selection is and only after 2 saves&exits.
Also another thing the Horadric Cube is kinda glitchy as well so if I add anything to it I also like to utilize this fix because it can poof with whatever is in it and then you’ll have to return to the Halls of the Dead too which is a pain.
I just keep it empty for crafting anyways.

Thanks for the workaround … but it’s really ridiculous that this problem wasn’t fixed in the last update. How hard can it be to just save the char AND the stash after every save & exit?

Yes there is an issue that has been happening since launch and has still not been fixed for offline console (maybe just Playstation, not sure) shared tabs. The game apparently doesn’t save items in shared tabs reliably (doesn’t trigger when you “Save and Exit”) so people have basically been losing tons of items. I had to go to online myself because there is no point in playing the game without functioning shared tabs. (Edit: Just saw the other replies lol, but yeah we should not be relying on these workarounds, the game should work the way it is supposed to since they have collected our money for it already).
