Since new runewords a thing that's happening, lets talk runeword suggestions

No one says that, lol. They just don’t want people changing it so much that it doesn’t hit the nostalgia button. Which is what they paid their money for, and what it was advertised as.

The amount of just straight up lying you do on an hourly basis should surprise me, but not anymore.

They already got what they paid for

It was advertised as a remaster on launch and then improvement would come

You got your part of the deal, now let the rest get what they were promissed

lol 100% delusional. Enjoy running into that wall, have fun in D4.

Well Plague is actually very good in Claws (mostly because claws always had very few options).
Obsession is strong in niche situations (Nova/Mana Shield for example) should you find a good staff for it.
Mist is simply a good bow.

I personally am glad they didn’t throw OP runewords at us.

Overpowered for lvl 15.

Overpowered for any level.

You forgot the nuke screen skill.

?!?

Perfectly balanced, you forgot the nuke screen skill though.

I’m not talking about Op stuff

But build enabling/ defining stuff

Like a runeword with a Oskill or ctc or a unique affix (ie:+1 maximum Valkery)

Most of 2.4 runewords don’t do that and are bland alternate power variation of what already exists

Sorceress is the LAST class that needs new weapons - you got spirit for mid game, hoto/occulus and then you have eschutas/dfathom/obession for late game/damage. She has, honestly, the most DIVERSE, set usable weapons out of any class.

IF we introduce new runewords we should give options to Far more classes.

  1. Bladefurry/Shadow disciplines high damage claws (using zod so eth bases viable)
  2. 2-H high damage, high MF axe/vigor aura hammer/axe runeword - make 2h druids/barbarians capable of late game MF. Vigor = more run walk = actually get around without enigma.
  3. Amazon bow that casts meteor/static/blizzard on striking - make a “proc” bowazon
  4. Make a 1-handed melee weapon that gives +1 dragon flight +moderate damage + MF = make melee classes more mobile outside of enigma!

Sure but the rune word is op. you don’t need anything else at lvl 25 for a VERY long time until you find something that is better than this item. this is bad balance and i wish they would just take this thing out of the game. or bump the level requirement up significantly!

And i am afraid that the devs put more crap like that into the game with the seasons -.- more op casual stuff for lazy players…

Those aren’t sorceress specific or themed. That’s been something that’s always lacked.

Also I updated the OP runewords and added more.

Low-Range Orbs

Disciple's Torch - Nef-Ith (req lvl 15)
+1 Sorceress skills
+2 Shiver Armor
+2 Warmth
+2 Static Field
+30% fcr
+5 Attributes
10-30% MF
10-30% GF

Concept: Early skills, effectively a poor sorc’s Occy to fill in the gap where its junk rares 100% of the time before you get an occy, or junk staves, or swinging a sword until you get occy.

The Butcher's Pestle - Sol Amn El (req level 27)
(Get it Salami elioelioelio)
-2 Sorceress Skill Levels (All levels below level 3 are reduced to level 1)
5% chance on attack to cast level 5 corpse explosion
100% Increased attack speed
+100-150 damage
+25-75 lightning damage
+25-75 fire damage
+25-75 cold damage
+25-75 magic damage
25 reduced physical damage taken
25 reduced magical damage taken
+15 strength
+15 vitality

Concept: So the butcher. Everyone talks about his little cleaver. He even has a pupil. But what if the guy wanted to grind up some wheat for a rogue corpse pizza? Gordan Ramsay Approved.

Mid-Range Orbs

Sister's Salute - Hel-Io-Um (Helium, c wut i did ther?) (req level 47)
1-3 Lightning skills
1-3 Fire skills
1-3 Cold skills
-20% requirements
+10-20 vitality
+10-20 Energy
+20-30 Resist All
+20-40% fcr
+20% enhanced defense

Concept: Potentially a rival of oculus from a performance standpoint. Relatively similar stats, with potential for better overall skill points, and a swinging range of cast rates but still clearly behind Oculus in the same skill/level range. Inexpensive enough to build, inexpensive enough to give away when you find occy, which is of course going to be better than this.

Esu Fiery Tempest - Ko-El (req level 41) (laff, coal, laff)

15% chance to cast level 10 meteor when struck
+1 Sorceress Skills
+1 Fire Skills
+150 Defense
+10 To Light Radius
+10 All Attributes
+1 warmth
+1 fireball
+1 firebolt
+1 meteor
+2-3 inferno
+2-3 blaze
+1 fire nova
+5 Arctic Blast
-25% fire resistance
+10% cold resistance
+10% poison resistance
+10% lightning resistance
+50% increased all resistances while using/channeling arctic blast

Concept: A real fire stick. Esu’s Fiery Tempest pulls all of the fire magic out of the user to the point that their own fire burns them leaving only a cold, chilled core that they occasionally have to bellow out. Probably would work on the D3 engine somehow, but if the devs pay any attention in here (which they really don’t) it might be an interesting concept for them to work with.

High End Orbs

Vile Seance - Zod El Ohm (req lvl 69)
Level 10 Defiance Aura When Equipped
5% chance to cast level 10 Lower Resist on attack
17% chance to cast level 9 Blade Shield when struck
7% chance to cast level 4 Slow Missiles when struck
+2 All Skills
+3 Lightning Mastery
+3 Fire Mastery
+3 Cold Mastery
+100-150 Damage
+100-150 Lightning Damage
+100-150 Fire Damage
+100-150 Cold Damage
+20 Attributes
-40% Increased Attack Rate
40% Faster Cast Rate
20% Faster Block Rate
10% Increased chance to block
Damage Reduced by 10%

Concept: A caster sorceress that wishes to be heavily cast in defensive energies. No -resist beyond chance to cast lower resist–which blade shield can actually proc. The trade off? You MUST be in melee range for Lower Resist to Proc from Blade Shield, and you MUST be in melee range to kick Blade shield off. Sure, you can utilize the +400-600 damage and attack like a savage with your roundy orb stick, but negative attack speed bonuses, so uh… good luck with that. Go on. Go jump into the fray.

This is a battlemage Orb, not a “attack from forever away” orb, ergo the boosts in additional stats. In the face of lands of sorceresses that stand far away from battle, she stands defiantly toe to toe against her adversaries.

“Have a fireball to the FACE.”

Zann Esu's Dark Tempest - Cham Ber Gul (req lvl 67)
Level 1 Salvation Aura When Equipped
2% chance to cast level 10 Cloak of Shadows when struck
+3 All Skills (ALL skills, since only sorcs can use this thing anyway)
+7 Thunderstorm
+2 Fade
+2 Hurricane
+2 Cyclone Armor
+25 Vitality
+25 Energy
Cannot Be Frozen
Damage Taken Increased by 0-15%
Damage Reduced by 0-15%
-42 to +33 Cold Resistance
-42 to +33 Fire Resistance
-42 to +33 Lightning Resistance
-42 to +33 Poison Resistance
-42 to +33 Magic Resistance

Concept: Opposite of Furious Seance, the mind storms that echo through a sorceress’ mind may sometimes remain uncontained. While damaging to others, these tempests may be damaging to themselves as well. It may go very well (salvation 60 res Fade 42 res +33 res all =135 practically already set for forever on resistances) or 60 + 42 - 42 = 60 (Aura only). Skills are static, as the resistance side of this wand is risky as hell as it is.
Visually, the Sorceress stands in a tempest, barely visible through the storm, with only the torrent of nature surrounding her.

This runewords would all be total OP, with the correct staff mods on the base.

IMHO would be perfect with +1 skill. Appropriate for the early sword, and on the shield there would be the choice between Spirit / Splendor / Lidless. But obviously to late for nerfs, as there are already +2 Spirits out there.

More sorc stuff since I’m kinda on that tangent.

Esu's Shield - Zod Eld Pul Io Pul Eld
6 Socket Staff
+3 All Skills
+250-350% enhanced damage
+250-350% enhanced defense
+5 Holy Shield
+5 Energy Shield
+15% Chance to block (yes, with the staff, no shield)
+50 Energy
Indestructible

Mostly defensive staff weapon that any class can use. Not as good as a solid shield/weapon setup, but an interesting one to say the least.
Set this up with a Guardian Angel and a safety amulet and right off the bat you’ve got 15+20+28+(5to10) chance to block without a shield.

Honestly staves need to have an inherent block chance anyway at least 1/5 that of a shield.
