I’ve been running pit and ancients tunnel since start of this season 5 , am i doing something wrong because i havent had any good drops including hrs or any good unique, Is there something wrong with the game settings ? or is it just bad luck.
Last season i got 2 griffon and ohm sur. I think drop rates are okay but maybe i havent done enough runs, I spend an hour or two per day. I haven’t found anything of value yet if you don’t count the trash
Im playing online softcore ladder, my magicfind is 230
It would be pretty unlikely to find even 1 griffons or 1 HR Ohm or above in 6-12 hours of play time.
Pretty sure you just got incredibly lucky last time. Now, you are experiencing the normal drop rates.

Touloumotyri already explained that this is just bad (or rather normal) luck, but your farming areas are obsolete. Since the introduction of Terror Zones you no longer need to run level 85 zones. In Terror Zones monsters have higher level (based on yours), so they have better drops. Particularly, even trash mobs can drop TC87 items if TZ level is high enough.

I got a Cham rune doing Arcane Sanctuary, while a Pul dropped doing Pits. Certain Monsters have a higher probability of dropping runes than others. Ghosts/Wraiths in Arcane Sanctuary are one of them. Ditto Finger Mages in River of Flame/Chaos Sanctuary. Wraiths/Ghosts in Tombs and Countess also have good chance at dropping runes. Then its simply a matter of killing lots and lots of monsters(density). Over time, runes will drop but as to the quality, its purely based on luck. Sometimes your luck is great, other times it’s piss poor.
As for Unique items, that’s purely based on Magic Find and Treasure Class. Higher the TC, fewer enemies that can yield them. Level 87+ areas are recommended, if not Terror Zones. Sweet spot on MF is roughly 200-300 MF.
A Sorc snatched a Shako in an 8-player Baal run. This was the same Sorc that refused to teleport afterwards when we needed one (in SOFTCORE btw).
You say ‘snatched’ like they somehow didn’t deserve the loot in an 8-player baal run.

I saw a Zod drop in a cow game a couple nights ago. First time in 20 years I actually saw one drop. Someone else got it of course, but I was just leeching at the time so I didn’t even bother trying for it.
