Simple Change to make Natayla Set Good for Melee Assassin

The boots are in exceptional class and are Mesh type which hampers the potential of kick damage. A simple change to heavy type boots, like upgraded Mirrored or Myrmidon greaves, could put melee Nat sin on par with other classes like Zealer or WW Barb or Fury Druid.

I say this as a guy who built a HC-L sin this season and it could do hell. Full Nat Set with max Tiger Strike and Dragon Tail and 6 fire facets in the Nat Set gear with a Jade Talon on the off hand. It does well and could even kill stuff in public games @ higher player difficulty. But it just wasn’t up to other melee build potential. It was fun and different way to play Sin and Diablo 2 in general. The charge mechanic isn’t the smoothest but it was rewarding to stick with it to see the kind of, One Punch Man style, of monsters blowing up with a single charged Dragon Tail kick.

Please just make the Mesh boots to War or Battle class boots in the exceptional category so players can then Up the boots to Mirrored or Myrmidon Greaves for the huge kick damage potential. The Nat Set is so close to being great with this simple change.

Boots with low kick damage on the elite set of the assassin is kind of a major design fail in the first place…

I totally agree with this!

IK boots take the War Boot drop… but even if it were to be somehow two War Boot options when ID’d… I wouldn’t care. Or just make the Nat Boot a Myrmidon Greave. Though, I think it would be best if this boot was a War Boot and upgrading it could be a solid end game option.

Average damage for War Traveler as Mirrored Boots is 97.5 (50-145) for 163 str
Average damage for Nat’s boots as Boneweave is 93.5 (69-118) for 118 str
Average damage for Shadow Dancers (myrmidon) is 116, with 167 str after -20% req

Maybe Nat set is actually good enough for being what it is, but I guess I wouldn’t see any harm in switching the base to War Boot > Myrmidon on a for-fun build. It would require a 30% req reduction to stay in line with Nat’s armor or you would have to dump enough points into strength that it becomes a real decision.
