Alright, so I was excited about quick cast, but I put off trying to set it up until I was going to do some easier content to get used to it.
Anyway, I set it up to rush my friend in Nightmare last night… and I couldn’t play to save my life, I almost died, my poor merc did die (sorry Hazan)… and I felt like I couldn’t reach the right keys in time to do anything besides cast.
So, if you’re using quick cast and loving it please share your key setup, I would like to try and get this to work for me.
ever sence playing POE. i now set up every ARPG to that games keybindings.
so for me i set my quick cast up like this:
QWERTY main skill i bind to RMB throw to LMB (used as a force move sorta) oh and i also bind teleport to G5 mouse key same key i use in POE for movement skills such as dash leap slam ect
pots on 1-4 If i need more skills bound i will just add more. have not yet needed more that what im using so far.
So far I’m using new default Resurrected binds, they are better than original d2 F keys.
Blizzard on right click, 1 Static Field, 2 Teleport, 3 Telekinesis, 4 Frozen Armor.
mine is kind of convoluted at first but i got used to it quite fast. i use 1-4 and alt+1-4 (and on a character that needed more i could use ctr+1-4) for skills i switch my pots to QWER and then i use L for quest Log, tab for weapon swap, mouse 4 for item name toggle and mouse 5 for mini map toggle.
i wouldn’t fault anyone for thinking it’s a crazy layout or too weird but it works for me and only took about an hour for my brain to adjust to it.
How do you handle that basically all of those keys are already D2 default bound keys? What are you using for… say, weapon swap?
I’ve seen crazier, I have played a lot of MMORPG/ARPG games and seen a lot of default setups crazier than that.
Haha, so to set mine back because I had changed it, I hit the default button and selected Resurrected… and almost had a heart attack because where did my F keys go? lol
My Sorc: Q=teleport, W=static, E=telekinesis, R=Blizzard, F=Frozen Armor.
LMB=Glacial Spike, RMB=Ice Blast
Took a little getting used to, but being able to conveniently use both glacial spike (for group freeze) and ice blast (for single target freeze/dmg) in combination with Blizzard is awesome.
For my Bowazon. Q for stand still attack. W is Explosive arrows, E is Guided Arrows, and W is Immolation Arrows.
Multi is on Left Mouse Button and Immo Arrow on Right Mouse.
A is for TP, S is for my Demon Limb Enchant, and D is Weapon Swap. I also use F and 5 and sometimes 6 for hotkeys.
tbh i do not really use weapon swap. as for those other D2 default keys i set them how POE has it.

skill tree=P
run/walk toggle=space
char sheet=C
might be missing some i cant think of right now. but this is pretty much how POE is set up
Been playing with ps4 controller on pc. Hammers.
If you haven’t tried it, would recommend it.
Super easy to switch Auras and maneuver. Would be interesting pvp.
Cool cool, sounds like something I could work with, I need force stop and weapon swap so I’d have to figure that out with the hand placement. As an aside I really enjoyed POE until they added more content than I wanted to deal with learning while I was on a “my HC character died to reflect” hiatus.
I don’t own any consoles besides my switch that I got for Zelda so it probably won’t feel natural to me. Glad they added the functionality though.

I still use that ancient setup with F-keys, but added Q and W to quickly switch my LMB skill while I was playing Fireball/FO.

Most critcial skills LMB/EMB (sometimes LMB is forcemove when aviailable)
Secondary critical skills, Side mouse buttons (Mouse button 4, Mouse Button 5) Most gaming mouses havs at least 2 side buttons.
Then follow by AWD (SOme people prefer QWD or bottom keys), the FPS keys
You should always have fingers there
Then follow by F, S, Q. one key away from the main Left hand Keys
Off combat keys can be set using fuction keys (F1, F2 etc), like BO, Holy sheild, Shiver armor.
F1 FW, F2 BLizzard, F3 Telekinesis, F4 Static field, F8 Ice Armor
Tab stand still, Z Weapon Swap(Y on US layout), 6-8 CTA, E TP, Space show items
Lmb Ice blast, RMB Teleport
I might change and tried different, but this one was the one i got used to first. Most important was to have teleport at a separate key, either mouse button or edge of a row of keys to be able to emergency exit reliably. Great thread btw, thank you !
