In the past i would say that 80%+ went ladder. i expect that most of those i see whining for everything to stay non ladder will leave their non ladder characters and join the ladder. ladder is great for all the gear salesmen because now many players will need to buy their gear all over again. wouldnt want to be stuck without an enigma on day 3 now would we?
i’m going to honest here and it’s gonna sound harsh so i’m sorry, but the fact that so many people are scared of/against ladder here shows how casual/noobish this forum is to diablo 2.
ladder is literally everything to this game lol. it’s what keeps the player base alive (aside from pvp which happens on NL a lot but ladder pvp is active too)
seriously, not a single other diablo community is complaining about ladder. everyone is excited about it. except for here lol

I will be playing ladder and racing to Hell mode with my team. It will be a blast, assuming there are nor realm down errors.

I’ll be on ladder but not going to try and compete since depending on when ladder starts it might conflict with league starts.
Well all the changes are going to effect NL. Exept the new RWs, but those will come too after Ladder ends, so… I don’t see a reason.

how many do you have on your team? i might be willing to hang with you if you need another.
Reach out to me when we get closer to the start. We will be doing a speed run, which can be stressful, and you need to know what you are doing. Be ready to start as soon as the season starts. Have your name ready to type etc. 
Ladder is for bragging rights and d2jsp’ers to make fg and other players will make RMT from other sites.
I have yet to play ladder in D2/D2LOD and I do not expect to play D2R ladder. Unless there is some really cool ladder only benefit that has not been announced yet. Bragging rights and RMT I am not interested in.

I’ll play ladder if there is something I want to play there. Likely, we’ll see with balance changes, I’ll be playing Ladder Season 1 due to the Druid changes if they look promising.
Overall though I do not plan to ladder a ton if stuff is rolling over to NL. I’d rather gear and develop those HC characters than leave them in the dust after 4 months.
those video game characters do seem real after awhile dont they? we live vicariously through our characters. one character or the other. makes no difference to me. i am god in a world of cyberdust.

You might love having ladder specific items that you can only ever get on the ladder. That idea is dumb, why should ladder always be so special. Where are HC only items and recipes. After all you need those ladder only stuff to play ladder then HC should need them as well. But obviously they don’t and I want to know why. Is it some miracle that makes HC superior to ladder that it never needs HC specific stuff to padd the numbers playing it.
You also realize that after four months the same things that were ladder only in the ladder season that ended will be able to be made in both single player and non ladder right.

You are missing the point, it isn’t about me nor does it mean that I play this game HC or not. I am talking about the fact that a lot of players of late have said that the only draw for the ladder is the ladder only stuff. Well then it is a miracle that HC doesn’t have items only gained by playing HC. That even non ladder has their own loot for non ladder. Then offline mode would need it as well. It is a miracle that all other modes don’t need it at all. Only ladder uses it to pad the numbers to make it look more successful than what it would be without that stuff.
I think it would still be just as successful without ladder only items just like the rest of the modes.
personally i dont care. as far as im concerned you should be able to use the cheat keys and everything else. just keep it non ladder.
d2j operates now doesnt it? it will operate in non ladder gear when ladder starts wont it? not sure how ladder benefits specifically from d2j more than anything else blizz is running for this game.
I wasn’t sure how they were going to incentivize ladder until they announced new ladder-only RWs. Now I’m pretty stoked. My non-ladder characters are already pretty geared up anyway.
So are you saying that any existing jsp FG can only be used to buy/sell/trade non ladder items now and in the future??? Yeah I didn’t think so.
FG can be used to trade any gear. But the FG used by ladder chars to buy ladder items probably didn’t come from this ladder did it? In some cases it might, in alot of cases it will not.
So basically stored FG from non ladder used by certain ladder chars to get an unfair advantage over other non FG using ladder chars = Pay 2 Win.
Its only unfair if you didnt work hard enough previous and accumulate a bank… Quit whining
