Shael um tir won't work with Tomb Reaver

I’d like to know why shael um tir won’t work with a Tomb Reaver Cryptic Axe to make a Crescent moon runeword. Does anyone know?
unfortunately, I could not post the picture of the “failed weapon” here for all to see.

cause thats a unique item, runewords only work with white or grey items
