Server Side Session Bug

I am experiencing a repeatable Diablo II: Resurrected online game-session error.

Platform: PC / Battle.netRegion: EuropeGame build: 92777

Issue began: Approximately June 2026

Reproduction steps:

Create an online game.

Complete a short Pindle run, usually 15–20 seconds.

Leave the game.

Immediately create another game.

The second game frequently fails with:

“Failed to enter game. This character is already in a game on the server. Please try again.”

The error normally clears after several minutes, but this makes rapid farming effectively impossible. I am not looking for a workaround involving a 60-second delay; I am looking for the underlying cause and a permanent fix.

Troubleshooting already completed:

Changed DNS to 1.1.1.1 and 8.8.8.8.

Flushed the Windows DNS cache.

Tested using Ethernet through a TP-Link Archer BE550/BE9300 router.

Tested again using a mobile-phone hotspot with Ethernet physically disconnected.

The same error occurred on the hotspot, immediately after leaving Game 1 and attempting to create Game 2.

This hotspot test makes my router, home ISP route, and DNS configuration unlikely causes.

The D2R log records:

JoinError: Error 13

D2BackendServices error 13

Repeated “Attempting to get members from unknown channel Lobby”

No heartbeat timeout or disconnect immediately before the failure

Please investigate whether the character-session release, lobby state, or rapid game-creation handling is incorrectly locking the character on the server. This appears to be a server/session issue rather than a local connectivity problem.
