i use xbox series x
i have 1 gb (fiber) upload and download.
hard wired connected.
now that that is out of the way
while playing diablo 2 i experienced server lag and was disconnected, upon reconnecting, it says my character is dead. i looked at FAQs and it says yall can not restore characters or items.
and before everyone says its my internet ETC ETC ETC the other 3 friends i was playing with all disconnected at the same time (we were all in separate lobbies)
so what am i to do? cause this is really dumb and i am quite upset.
I just experience disconnection not too long ago. Seem like server issue on their side.
They won’t restore your character, and they won’t fix the problem. So you can either accept it, or don’t play hardcore.

Yes it is, it just isn’t what you want to hear. You aren’t the first to lose a character this way, it’s not even that uncommon. You know the risks, don’t expect people to coddle you when it happens to you.
no one is being “coddled” when the game devs cant fix an apparent “common” issue which would make it unplayable? i only ever play hardcore the RISKS should because i died my own not because the company can not keep their servers up.

Generally, if you see characters missing its a server/network issue. WHen the issue is passed, you’ll see the character again.
If you check back later and it’s still missing, contact support. Posting here won’t get you any help.
(Make sure you’re on the Online character list, sometimes when you load into the game, despite saying “connecting to battle.net” it won’t connect and it will take you to the offline character list. Just select Online again to attempt reconnection)
nah i went into fight Duriel, portaled out to go summon my minions and everything was running very smooth, i get in there and try to resummon my portal and go to start fighting and got some server notification, i was sent to the main menu had an issue trying to login for several minutes (as did the entire party i was in) and then when i got back into the game he was dead… 100 % not my fault but i spent like 24 hours (in game time) on him during this event they had… so i lost that all and pissed i wasted all that time for the game to bugout and kill my character, id be completely ok if it were my fault. (ive had higher chars die and was like yeah my fault oops) but this one stung cause it wasnt my fault
Well that’s different, i thought you meant your character was missing, not killed. There have been times when people “lost” their characters (as in, they no longer appeared in the character list) but that’s different from a hardcore character dying.
