Search inventory option

Dear developers,

Can you please include a search option in the stash?
Same as in D3.
It improves the quality of life.

would be nice with the extended stash n all :slightly_smiling_face:

D2 even with the extended stash doesn’t really have a lot of room to get lost in. The items are rather easy to distinguish visually as well. Honestly, I’d find a search bar an eyesore.

Ohh D3 has this? Oh then we must put it into D2! :man_facepalming:

Plenty of other games have it. A search box isn’t going to harm anything.

i dont recall d3 having this but i haven’t played d3 since like season 6…

i mean realistically you should organize the stuff yourself, i had a separate mules for gems, jewels, jewelry, 1-2 for uniques, rares, 2-3 mules for socketables because they take so much space, 1 for completed runewords, 1-2 for sets.

i would rather game a stackable place for runes and gems and key and full rejuvs like POD added this past season in stash it would be easier to implement imo too.

I’d have no problem with them implementing this, but I would like it toggleable, so it doesn’t distract from the feel of the inventory. I don’t like text bars, same as I don’t like little numbers on stackable items…So I hope there’d be an option to not have to see a searchable text bar.

I dunno, these things annoy me visually if there’s too many of them. Gold is enough of a text bar for me.

Yeah it would - it’d be an eyesore, as Aori said two before you. :sob:

What would be nice is if this search inventory/stash option was also available for all of our characters. Say I make 10 extra characters for muling a lot of my items. I can do a search inventory/stash of each of my characters so that way if I’m trying to find/trade an item I can look to see where it is. That saves from having to write down your extra characters/mules on a piece of paper/notepad on computer to check where a certain item is.

Just say you want no QoL updates at all and go lol. You two are against practically anything, even if it doesn’t change the gameplay. A search bar that is visible when you are in your stash isn’t going to detract from your experience in any way. I don’t think it’s really necessary unless they give us many shared stash tabs though.

I’m all for reasonable QoL. However I just find a search bar unnecessary in D2. The items look different, there isn’t much inventory space.

Again I just think its a visual eyesore. If they can have a toggle, sure by all means. I doubt it though. I just think its a really really low priority QoL.

What would also be nice is like some people suggested is something like a Cain’s Encyclopedia. Has a list of all items, and recipes in game(could even search by type like a Berserker Axe) so that way you can go to Cain, type in Berserker Axe, and it will show if you have any Berserker axes whether Unique, Rare, Magic on any of your characters.

Yes it would.

Lots of Arpgs are visually unappealing.
Diablo2 currently has a wonderful feel to it. Too many text bars or numbers absolutely will detract from that feel.

Having the labels on top of the stash must be an eyesore then too. They better make those toggleable then also. It seems like you guys honestly argue against any changes. It’s a remaster for a reason. I don’t feel a text box is necessary yet, but if they do give us multiple shared stash tabs, then it would be good to have.

I don’t see them giving more than a few stash tabs, if they give 10+ It might be worthwhile. I still think it’s a bit of an eyesore but if we have 1000+ stash squares I’d be fine with it.

For 3/4 stash tabs it would be an eyesore with zero value.

Diablo II doesn’t really need any "Search Inventory Options"
The inventory isn’t that big, and you can easily find out what you have in your inventory.

Yeah not true - I think qol on the scale theyve announced is great. Little things - cube recipe book, portals staying open, cool. Im even kinda into some subtle buffing of the worst abilities. So dont label me away, plz.

This topic has all the little juice it contained already squeezed out, but Id be cool with it as long as it was a toggle. But a long blank search bar at the top of our stash inv menus would make it seem more “administrative” for something so unneeded and would detract a bit, yes. Arent you sensitive to art & aesthetics, ARTPOP? But doesnt matter anyway, a toggle would be the way to go with this suggestion.

I don’t think there is much need as we not getting 10+ stash tabs for each character and we can not fit as much items on each tab either as we can in D3. I never even used it much in D3 either.
But its not like it would effect anything so i don’t care if they do add it, as long as its on a low priority list and does not slow them down in the release.

Why would it have to be a “long blank search bar”? You’re assuming things. And no, I don’t let small things like that get to me. I can deal with a search bar, they’re in many other games. This isn’t really needed though, unless they add many stash tabs.

1 stash tab is enough.
Who keep their crap stuff in the stash?
Also, 1 or max 2 shared stash tabs is enough because It’s only for sharing item to another character.

Example: If you find an Ocolus with your Paladin, you keep it in your shared stash untill you have you sorceress ready to swap it into sorceress inventory.
