Ok I saw the black friday price of D2 and I buy D2 (again). I got hope that itwont do it again but no it does again : I cannot play D2 for headache ! The way the screen scroll when you move. Cannot stay even more than 2min… That’s horrible !
If you read or play on phone when the car move… The same effect (want to vomit if persist!). Just wonder I am alone ?
In the beginning, the first month of release I got really dizzy playing it, I couldnt play for more than 10 minutes at a time.
I dunno if they changed something or I changed a graphics setting but it doesnt happen anymore.
Oh really how luck. At release i could go on 10 or 15 minutes. This morning after install i just create new character et play. Be able to play 1-2 minutes no more… :((
I feel you…
If you can get a sorceress to level 18, you could try only using teleport to get around, that’s what I do. It is very convenient with quick cast now, and is also really fun. Of course you still need to walk in town, but accessing the stash/waypoint/town portal with telekinesis cuts the walking distance quite a bit.
And with telekinesis you can also open chests and pick up gold and potions from afar.
The mana cost of teleport can be quite a struggle initially, atleast until you get the runeword Insight. Before that, I put a few points in energy and teleport, increased my mana via items, and used mana potions. Looots of mana potions.
Does it happen with all top down view isometric type games?
Try turning on perspective mode in the legacy video options, see if the depth perception helps.
You could also play around with the max FPS setting. Try setting it at 60, or even 30. (The original game was 25 FPS)
The movement of the screen view is very rigid for mouse play. You could experiment with controller play, I’ve heard that it’s smoother.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virtual_reality_sickness
There are many reports of motion sickness not only from full 3D virtual reality games, but also games like Diablo and even flat 2D games (think Super Mario Bros. and Metroid), and even scrolling up/down webpages.
I am completely baffled as to why you would buy another copy of the game thinking it would be different.
I played this game on my 17" laptop for 8-10 months without issue…
I bought a PC with 28" monitor (2)… that really threw me for a loop for a while… I’m used to it now, but for some time I felt ‘off-balance’…
Have you tried a smaller monitor? Like the game was originally intended to be played on?
Every once and a while I play on my laptop (if wife is working from home using the PC) and, to be honest, the smaller screen is quite nice.
