Is cheating with scripts a thing? Specifically for picking up items off the ground?
Pretty sure the answer is yes
Yep pick up scripts are against TOS, but controllers apparently have button that vacuums all items in an isntant.
So theres that.

no, they don’t. you can’t loot more than one item at a time with the controller. you just spam the button and it picks up the closest thing in range. you can’t even really control which item you pick up if you’re in the scrum when the boss dies, it just grabs whichever

That’s different how? This code needs to be stripped from the PC version.

no it doesn’t. it’s way less of a problem than actual loot/pickit scripts which filter by item type and ignore trash items and automatically pick up runes and uniques

No, it needs to be stripped from the PC version. Keep autoloot on console where it belongs and off the PC version.

Obviously, you want to defend your unfair autoloot advantage over others by using console gear on PC where it doesn’t belong. The least you can do then is stop being an absolute hypocrite and arguing against pickit. Pathetic.

Super frustrating…
Cheating is a real problem. Think I’m going to change to all solo or play with people I know in real life so there is no cheating.
wow, namecalling and insulting. the controller isn’t any faster than holding alt and clicking the loot. i also play a sorc and i’m never close enough to loot anything during baal runs and whatnot anyway. i’ve seen people get shako and ber and Lo and had no chance to even try to pick them up.
here’s an idea, make it so all players clip through summons. that’s what’s really unfair, a necro with a horde of minions keeps almost everybody away from the loot area becuase their skellies and raised monsters physically stop anyone else from getting close.

controllers aren’t the same as auto pick up scripts lol. a controller user may have a fraction of a second faster click speed than a m+k user but they also have 0 finesse they just pick up whatever is in the area they are in. I don’t personally use a controller because i don’t want to constantly be picking up junk but i have no issues with people who do want to do that.
The most hypocritical thing being said in this thread though is you demanding blizzard remove controller players ability to loot so you can get an unfair advantage while claiming to be against advantages for others.
Scripts exist to auto pick up loot. Most are pixel based built on AutoIt (look at color of the item, color of the chest/open slots to store things) they are very unsophisticated.
There are map hacks which reveal the map by reading memory to find the map seed, then using an older version of the game to process the seed and display an overlay of the map externally to the game.
And much more rare are the fully fledged bots that can auto teleport, kill bosses, pick up specific loot and store it all. These are all very private, but video clips of them working are public.
It will not be long before the bots for this game are as sophisticated as they were for D2 regular.
PC is mouse and keyboard. Controller is for console. No cross-play. No unfair advantages. Illiterate hypocrite.
PCs since at least 1981 have included controller support it is not new tech. It was actually much more common to have a controller port than mouse support.
Why are you defending the controller mass pickit function?
If the person knows right where to stand, say directly south right under Baal’s feet, and they have a completely empty inventory, they can spam the button so quickly that they can pick up all the loot in like .15 seconds. Literally all of it. Their character doesn’t need to move to be in range to pick all of that up if the person stands directly in the middle of where all of that is dropping.
That controller function is essentially a legal hack script. They need to figure something else out for controller players.
PCMasterRace is getting very restrictive these days if PCs can no longer use controllers like they have since the 70’s.
