geez, what in the world of diablo cost 60bers and how do I find it?
Wow feels bad dude. What could possibly cost 60 bers anyways…
nothing cost 60 Bers and i don’t know how you would get 60 ber unless you bought them with money somewhere. If anyone traded enough items to get 60 bers, I would think they will never fall for this
I agree. Anyone who’s work hard to get a few bers would know not to do something like this so someone with 60 bers should know even better. Seems like a pay-to-win player.
Although if you think about it, the scammer is really dumb as well. They could have got away with all 60 Bers if they have actually traded the item. I mean what can’t you buy with 60 Bers other than time lol
lol you’re right about that too. Funny as heck.
It could have been perfect GG items that cost multiple Bers each, and the scammer don’t feel like giving any of them, likely they might try this again with another buyer, not sure if anyone else would fall for it though
Well at that point it would have just made sense to buy enough on trade screen and repeat until all traded. Unless he really was dumb enough to give 10 bers first and then trade for all items later.
Yeah agreed really not sure what the buyer was thinking, giving 10 ber on trade screen without asking for anything back with total stranger, what can go wrong
Rookie trader who bought them for money most likely, too naive. This will be a lesson learned. I am not sure how much 60 bers would cost in real dollars but I wish there was a way to report these scammers and ban them. It’s just bad for the game
I think the origin of the issue stems more so from the inventory being small AND not having a feature where items that don’t fit in inventory auto-places into available stash slots (and of course have trade error pop-up if no space available for items and auto-cancel trade). These things can prevent silly stuff like this where supposedly many have fallen for before.
Solution would be pretty easy (like they did in PoE) that currency items like runes, gems etc. could be stacked.
Definitely agree with this too. There are many ways to prevent these situations. Whether people agree or not, I think PoE truly has built a well-designed game and d2 can learn from this.
No one should be coming up with any sorta trades that doesn’t fit the trade window
I recognise this SwankyPants username. It’s the same username that I blocked when reporting one of the Ad Spammers. Probably the same guy. Would make sense that a seller would deal with bers in the dozens.
It is amazing this guy actually believes the scammer works in Korea.
For all I know the scammer could be living in Des Moines, Iowa, or living in some gated community in Florida.
The simple rule is you don’t trust anyone in D2R. I am sorry if I offend anyone on this forum with this statement. But I have not gotten scammed in 2.5 months of playing this game. Every trade was done judiciously by checking, double checking, even triple checking everything to ensure it is what was agreed upon.
Do not trust anyone in this game. Do not join any clans. Do not share items with anyone else. If you give an item to someone for a few days, please consider it a gift okay? It is gone.
Also, when people start telling you about their personal lives that’s usually the beginning of a confidence game. I’ve seen too many of these in the investing world of stock market, but it works just the same in this game. Scammer want to gain your trust so you would hand over 10 bers or any GG items willingly.
Again, DO NOT TRUST ANYONE. Always check, double check, triple check every transaction.
Sadly, that is the case. There is not enough resources to monitor the game like a mod community where if this happens, the scammer would be booted for good
lol 60 bers. I’m not even sorry. Obvious how did he got them. Even worse you can post about it on general forum along with your btag and nothing will happen anyway.
agree. The OP should know that there’s no point in doing a “reward” for someone who finds whoever scammed him or whatever. More runes down the drain… And how are we supposed to even find this person?
I don’t want to say I’ve been scammed… but I did hand over 6 bers a while ago to someone I thought was my friend (we met in real-life as well, etc)… and this sort of stuff happened, but I didn’t go about calling them a scammer on the forum discussions… More so, just thought I was a fool and called it a lesson learned.
