Have 2, 3 socket swords; all level and abilities for the swords are well within parameters; tried to socket AMN RAL THUL and none of the runes will socket into the swords.

Gems, jewels and runes can’t be added to socketed items while in shared inventory tabs. Move the socketed item to your character inventory or the personal stash tab (farthest left) and try again.

Was this something I overlooked in the game documentation?
I’m not sure if Blizzard documented it or not, it’s just something most figured out as they went along.
I consider it a feature. Keep your open socket items in shared tabs, as it helps prevent you from accidentally socketing them.
