Is it possible somehow to run the game twice on the same PC?
I can’t find anywhere in the launcher to launch the game again once its running.
I’ve tried to copy the game installation to a different folder, but when i try to launch the second one with the game running, it just pushes the open game to focus.
I’ve tried installing VMware, but there it won’t start due to being unable to initiate graphics card.
There used to be a command-line switch for the original D2 that let you do this. You needed a unique game key for each connected account, however. You might still be able to use it.
The switch is: -multiclient

AFAIK no. It’s one instance of game per PC. Tests were done over beta for this.
However I’m at work right now so haven’t tried other methods. I’ll see how I go once I get home and let you know.
its possible to run more than one copy, but D2R doesn’t have a login screen.
It’s connecting to bnet from the launcher. which means more Hassel to do it.
The other problem I see is the way the game is in its current state with how its unstable, crashing randomly and causing GPU’s to run hot at higher frame rates, I don’t think I would wanna even try to run two copies until they get this fixed.
I wanted to buy a second copy so I could rush myself and share way points to new toons, but the more i thought about it, the more I came to the conclusion that now isn’t the right time.
